$30,700 over one year to support an intergenerational mentorship program for African-Canadian at-risk youth in Peel.

The Archers of Caledon
$24,300 over one year to support improvements that will make the archery range more accessible year-round.

Belfountain Heritage Society
$25,000 over one year to assist in the restoration of Melville (White) Church, an 1837 building considered to be one of the last timber frame churches in Ontario that predates the Victorian era.

Bereaved Families of Ontario - Halton/Peel
$66,000 over four years to set up satellite locations for the association's programs and services, and to raise community awareness and support for bereaved families.

Big Brothers of Peel Region
$207,900 over four years to Big Brothers of Peel Region to support PEAC, a group mentorship program for boys, ages 7 to 18, which will provide opportunities for a variety of skills development and personal growth towards their full development as adults.

Big Sisters of Peel Inc.
$205,000 over three years toward the operation of the One-to-One Matching Program, which provides mentoring to girls (aged 6 to 16).

Bolton and District Horticultural Society
$72,000 over three years to support a tree planting program along the land that borders the Humber River, and areas that can be easily accessed by hiking trails.

Bolton Gymnastics Club
$7,700 over one year to support program expansion and upgrade old equipment so that it meets safety standards.

Brain Injury Association of Peel and Halton
$70,000 over two years to hire a fundraising/marketing and volunteer coordinator and thereby increasing the capacity of the organization.

Brampton Neighbourhood Resource Centre
$210,000 over three years to support a variety of activities, including communication and resource development, and recreational activities for families and programs for South Asian seniors.

Brampton Track Club Inc.
$41,500 over 2 years to support recruitment and training of coaches, and acquire specialized equipment to improve track and field opportunities for youth in the region.

Bronte Butterfly Project
$150,000 over two years to enhance organizational capacity for resource development and marketing towards the development of a butterfly garden project in Bronte village.

Burlington Art Centre
$75,000 over one year to support the renovation of the Centre in order to meet the growing and diverse needs of the community, including much-needed space for educational programming in the visual arts.

Caledon East & District Historical Society
$24,300 over one year to document and publish a book that celebrates settlers of the Caledon East area and recounts various aspects of the community's early life.

Catholic Family Services of Peel-Dufferin
$255,000 over four years to support Helping Mothers and Children Survive Abuse Together, a community-based collaborative program for children and mothers who have been exposed to abuse.

Club Alouette Laval de Burlington
$10,000 as a one-time grant to help with start-up costs in the development of a French language inter-generational theatrical service in the Burlington area.

Coalition for Persons with Disabilities (Peel/Halton/Dufferin)
$85,000 over two years to support services for persons with disabilities and training of service providers.

Coalition on the Niagara Escarpment
$24,900 over one year to support environmental education and awareness around the Niagara Escarpment.

Community Foundation of Oakville
$120,000 over three years to contribute to the development of Oakville Heritage Trail System, a 54-km trail system linking the community's existing trails.

Community Living North Halton
$75,000 over one year to assist in the renovation of the agency's new industrial packaging and assembly site at Georgetown, which provides vocational programming and support for the developmentally handicapped.

Country Heritage Experience Inc.
$71,000 over one year to support the Farm Museum in its efforts to equip an event facility, develop a horticultural program, and implement a communication strategy.

Credit River Anglers Association
$39,200 over seven months to support rehabilitation of the Credit River watershed.

Croatian Community Services
$6,000 over five months to conduct a needs/capacity assessment of the Croatian community in Peel and develop a strategic plan to address its challenges and opportunities.

D.A.R.E. Halton
$42,000 over four years to support drug abuse resistance education program in both Public and Separate schools in the Halton Region.

Distress Centre Peel
$25,000 over one year to expand the organization's computer system, which will strengthen front-line service on two 24-hr. crisis lines and improve callers' access to agency referral information and case management assistance.

Elder Help - Peel
$195,000 over three years towards operating support to enable the organization to make the transition from being a successful program to sustainable organization.

The Family Education Centre
$22,000 over six months to develop the organizational capacity of this agency that provides public support for building effective parenting skills.

The Family Network (Social Planning Council of Peel)
$22,500 over five months to support a feasibility study/ action plan for a community based day activity program for young adults (over 21) with developmental disabilities in Mississauga.

Family Services of Peel
$210,000 over three years to support a volunteer management and leadership program to train volunteers to work on local initiatives, including school-based family violence and credit counselling programs.

Food For Life Canada
$74,000 over two years to distribute surplus food from bakeries, supermarkets and private donors to community groups and individuals in Halton who are in need.

Food-Path Interfaith Peel Association to Tackle Hunger
$28,000 over one year to strengthen and expand the network of people who supply and receive food products and household supplies from Food-Path.

Friends and Advocates Peel
$52,600 over two years to deliver social and recreational services to mental health consumers and survivors in Peel Region in partnership with other community institutions and agencies.

FRIENDS for Success (Halton Family Services)
$145,000 over two years to help low-income women "dress for success" for job interviews or training opportunities.

Georgetown District Seniors Centre
$60,000 over five years to help cover the general operating costs of the Seniors Centre in support of its programming and activities.

Georgetown Globe Productions
$25,000 over one year to support improvements to a hall that serves as a facility for rehearsals, small theatre presentations, set construction, and other community theatre group activities.

Gymnastics Mississauga
$71,000 over three years to increase access to international gymnastics for junior level competitors and school children.

Halton Adolescent Support Services
$67,000 over two years to support a student-led violence prevention program for youth.

Halton Hills Community Support and Information (HHCSI)
$170,600 over three years to support the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the sustainability of the organization's community support, information and youth programs.

Halton Rape Crisis Centre
$38,000 over two years to support a multicultural drop-in program and counselling services for women in Halton Region.

Halton Regional Police Service
$8,000 one-time grant to support Hands Across The World, a celebration of multicultural diversity and an opportunity to build positive relations between ethnocultural groups and local government in Halton Region.

Halton Seniors T.V. Productions
$15,500 over two years to purchase equipment that will enhance the production of a T.V. program entitled "Senior's Showcase" which is produced and directed by seniors.

Hamilton-Halton Watershed Stewardship Program c/o Bay Area Restoration Council
$26,800 over three years to support the Watershed Stewardship Program involving landowners and the broader community in the enhancement and restoration of local land and water resources.

Heritage Acton
$75,000 over two years for renovations to a historical building to support local cultural and economic opportunities.

Humber Valley Heritage Trail Association
$75,000 over nine months to put-up a fishladder at the McFall Dam in Bolton to permit fish passage up to the Humber headwaters after about one hundred years of denied access to the river.

Inter-Cultural Neighbourhood Social Services (Mississauga)
$75,000 over three years to support Seniors on the Move, a social, recreational and educational program for Cooksville seniors from the Polish, Gujarati and Caribbean communities.

Invictas Football Club
$22,000 over six months to purchase safety equipment and jerseys for a football club that offers training and programs for children and youth in Halton.

Learning Disabilities Association of Halton
$21,700 over one year to support the expansion of the Agency's Resource Services Program and the development of a plan for a New Model for working with persons with learning disabilities in Halton Region.

Le Cercle de l'Amitié
$5,000 over six months toward an extensive organizational review of the centre's programs and services.

Malton Black Development Association
$23,100 over two months to support a youth-mentored literacy program for young children ages 8-12 in the Malton area.

Manic-Depressive Association for the Region of Peel
$17,500 over three years to assist the association with its outreach activities, which include conducting a membership drive and publishing a newsletter and brochure.

Maximilian Kolbe Foundation
$5,000 to support the holding of The First National Chopin Piano Competition in October 1999 in Mississauga to help identify promising new Canadian pianists and to offer these musicians significant performance opportunities.

The Milton Choristers
$23,300 over two years to support the choir's revitalization thrust in order to increase membership and expand audience base.

Milton Community Resource Centre
$17,300 over one year to enhance the centre's Toy Library Program, a toy borrowing system for families in Milton.

Minor Track Association (of Ontario) - (MTA)
$19,200 over one year to pilot a training program to enhance the skills of older youth, parents, coaches and volunteers in the various track and field disciplines and to meet the need for more trained coaches.

The Mississauga Festival Youth Choir
$7,500 over two years to support youth participation in performing arts.

Mississauga Hockey League
$120,000 over three years to hold three annual hockey novice festivals in order to promote fun, skills and fair play in the sport and to expand an initiation program which aims to make the children's first contact with hockey a safe and positive experience.

Mississauga International Children's Festival
$ 25,000 over six months in support of the four-day 1999 Mississauga International Children's Festival, which provides an opportunity for kids and their families to participate in a variety of professional and community arts activities.

Mississauga Potters' Guild
$34,900 over ten months to replace pottery equipment and offer safe, affordable, and well equipped studio to clay artists, hobbyists and interested public.

Mississauga Shrine Club
$75,000 over ten months to support the renovation of the "Derry House" for the purpose of supplying affordable offices to four charitable groups in Mississauga.

Mississauga Symphonic Association
$45,000 over three years to hire a part-time coordinator to develop and manage the symphony's Education and Outreach program, which increases access to performing arts through Musical Ambassador classroom visits, open rehearsals and school concerts.

Mississauga Warriors Football Club
$22,200 over six months to purchase equipment for a football club that provides training and competitive programs for youth.

Multicultural Inter-Agency Group of Peel
$125,000 over three years to continue building partnerships among member agencies and new groups, promote involvement in cross-sector committees, develop and implement multicultural strategies in the Region of Peel.

Native Men's Residence
$46,800 over three years to support increased services to homeless people under the Native Men's Residence's Street Help Outreach Program.

Nelson Youth Centres
$195,000 over three years to enable Nelson Youth Centres to expand and offer a therapeutic after school treatment program for Halton youth aged 8 and 9, and a concurrent program for their parents.

Oakville Community Centre for Peace, Ecology and Human Rights (Halton Rape Crisis Centre
$99,500 over two years to support a community environmental awareness project which includes nature walks, eco-kit production and distribution, Winter forums and, an Earth Week 2000-2001 celebration.

Oakville Lawn Bowling Club
$22,000 over one year to help refurbish the community's lawn bowling green to improve recreational use and meet regulation standards.

Our Place (Peel)
$125,000 over three years to support a volunteer program to increase and improve opportunities for homeless and disadvantaged youth in Peel.

Peel Child Care Committee
$72,400 over two years to coordinate professional development and training for child care providers and parents, as well as resources for early childhood educators, program administrators and other caregivers.

Peel Children's Aid Society
$74,500 over three years to support a Family Visit Centre in Brampton enhance its services, and provide a safe and neutral environment for children and their families to spend time together.

Peel Committee Against Woman Abuse
$210,000 over three years to support a community-based coordinating committee to work on initiatives designed to reduce woman abuse and to increase access to local programs and services.

Peel Partners for a Drug-Free Community
$14,900 over six months to meet the organization's technological needs and improve its capacity to develop relevant information for the region's families, students, professionals and seniors.

Protect Our Water and Environmental Resources
$62,000 over one year to do ecological restoration in six sites in Halton Hills, using only native species and involving more than 2,000 students from 18 schools as well as volunteers from the community.

Rapport Youth and Family Counseling of Peel Inc.
$278,000 over four years to deliver volunteer-based mentorship/ counseling services to youth in Peel Region through the Volunteer Connections Program, including an evaluation and documentation of the model for potential replication at other sites.

Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar Foundation Inc.
$75,000 over three years to help support a youth-maintained centre which would offer both drop-in leisure activities and structured programming, and would provide resources for volunteering, education, and job opportunities.

Sampradaya Dance Creations
$20,000 over 11 months for Stri - Essence of Woman, a community-based dance performance to celebrate and share the cultural heritage of Indo-Canadian women.

Save Our Ravines - Halton Hills
$20,000 over three months to conduct an assessment of the Hungry Hollow Ravine in order to identify and measure its natural and economic benefits to the Town of Halton Hills, and to explore the formation of a Land Trust Structure.

S.E.N.A.C.A. - Seniors Day Program - Halton, Inc.
$28,000 over two years to expand and enhance the agency's volunteer program and administrative support to improve day programming for frail and elderly adults.

Square One Older Adult Centre
$130,000 over three years to support the organization build its administrative, volunteer, and resource development capacities to effectively serve its over 1400 members and the senior community in Mississauga.

St. John Ambulance, Mississauga Branch
$19,500 over three months to support renovations and repairs to the facility occupied by the agency.

Telecare Distress Centre Brampton
$79,300 over four years to develop a volunteer training program to increase access to the centre's volunteer-staffed 24-hour telephone service.

Victorian Order of Nurses - Halton Branch
$50,000 over one year to support "People in Crisis", a comprehensive health care support program for vulnerable adults.

Women's Information and Support Centre of Halton
$90,000 over three years to support programs and services for women, including information and referral, education and training, and a resource centre.
