Amelia Rising Women's Collective Sexual Assault Centre of Nipissing
$37,000 over one year to hire one support worker to help reduce the waiting period for counseling and to develop an educational support group for partners, spouses, family members and friends of adult female survivors of sexual violence.

Antoine Algonquin Community Services Corporation
$30,000 over six months to conduct research of local Algonquin First Nation history from written and oral tales, photographs and to carry out presentation to the non-Native community, including students and tourists.

Argyle Lion's Club
$15,000 over seven months to install emergency lighting, upgrade the kitchen, make the washrooms accessible and widen the club's entrance.

Association canadienne-française de l'Ontario, conseil régional de Nipissing
$10,500 over one year to assist the new, bilingual Volunteer Bureau of West Nipissing with the creation of a resource centre and database, and the development of a plan to raise awareness and funds.

Bala Curling Club
$35,000 over four months to repair the floor and install piping to provide a better quality ice surface and to extend the curling season for the community.

Bracebridge Community Policing Committee Inc.
$33,100 over three years to the Muskoka Volunteer Network collaborative, including the Bracebridge Community Policing Committee, to increase the Network's profile and to develop a database of volunteer opportunities and of locally held resources on volunteerism for the region of Muskoka.

Britt Lions Club
$17,000 over four months to renovate the Holy Family Church and Missions Parish community hall so its washrooms are barrier-free.

The Canadian Ecology Centre
$28,600 over eight months to hire a bookstore manager to research available resource material to be carried in the Canadian Ecology Centre's bookstore and to develop an organizational outline of the functioning of this bookstore/ resource centre.

Canadian Mental Health Association Nipissing Regional Branch
$6,000 over one year to develop a promotional package including a video to increase the local support for the Mattawa and North Bay Interlink intergenerational choirs.

Canadian Mental Health Association - Timiskaming Branch
$6,600 over one year to support a collaborative effort to pair Grade 5 students with senior citizens so they can become penpals, form a choir, and eventually give a public performance.

Child & Family Centre
$80,000 over three years to hire a coordinator who can train facilitators to work with families in the Wraparound process in Parry Sound and Nipissing Districts.

Children's Aid Society for the District of Timiskaming
$20,000 over eight months to support a collaborative effort to continue Englehart's Clear Choices program, which operates a drop-in centre and prevention programs.

Club de Golf de Verner Golf Club
$8,000 over three months toward an automatic irrigation system to extend the season for this community golf course in a small, francophone farming community.

Community YWCA of Muskoka
$35,000 over one year to run a 30 week program for girls aged 9 to 13 in nine community schools throughout Muskoka, to develop a business plan, and to develop and carry out a fundraising campaign.

D.A.R.E. Canada (North Bay Chapter)
$15,000 over eight months to develop a fundraising and public awareness campaign that includes designing, and distributing promotional material to local businesses and the community-at-large.

Discovery Routes Trails Organization
$20,500 over one year to support the environmental project in its efforts to create a funding and sustainability plan, expand its Web site, and raise awareness by attending trade shows.

Doreen Potts Health Centre
$25,000 over one year to develop, implement and promote volunteer-run programs for seniors in the community.

50+ Club
$5,600 over four months for renovations that include, building a ramp, canopy and landing for accessibility purposes and installing a steel door and frame.

Friends of Bethune Memorial House
$20,000 over six months to create and install a bronze statue in Gravenhurst's town square.

The Heritage River Music Festival
$25,000 over one year to develop a series of workshops and panels on music and the music industry and to increase the profile of the summer Heritage River Music Festival.

Huntsville Festival of the Arts
$25,000 over two months to continue to present and extend the reach of the orchestral component of the festival to meet educational, community awareness, artistic, and economic goals.

Huntsville and Lake of Bays Railway Society
$24,100 over one year to develop a safety manual, educational and marketing materials, as well as educational opportunities for the Heritage Railway at Pioneer Village.

Katrine Leisure Club
$15,000 over eight months to carry out repairs to the shuffleboard floor, purchase card tables, chairs, and a new carpet for this well used community centre.

Kirkland and District Association for the Developmentally Handicapped
$25,000 over three years to allow a community collaborative to establish an educational Kids on the Block Puppet program in Kirkland Lake.

Lady Evelyn Cottage Owners and Lake Users Association
$17,900 over one year to assist in repairing and upgrading docking facilities at Mowatt Landing and the Mattawapika Dam, as well as cleaning up public camp sites on Lady Evelyn Lake.

The Lions Club of Bracebridge Inc.
$25,000 over five months to restore a wheelchair accessible, non-vehicular bridge at High Falls over the Muskoka River to accommodate all outdoor enthusiasts as part of the Trans Canada Trails.

Muskoka Literacy Council
$21,000 over six months to respond to the increased demand for literacy training by adding another room to the office and buying computer equipment for students to design and disseminate a corporate sponsorship brochure.

Muskoka Network Against Elder Abuse
$29,000 over two years to hire a part-time coordinator to develop a sustainability plan, gather data for the Seniors Secretariat, and distribute information to youth and the general public about elder abuse.

Nipissing First Nation Health Committee
$19,400 to cover the most of the costs for the five Health Promotion Events planned by the Health Committee. The grant will allow the group to develop fundraising projects such as a community cookbook and community calendar to fund next year's activities.

Nipissing Stage Company
$25,000 over six months to assist in the inaugural season of 3 entertaining theatrical performances and one original Canadian work, focussing on true stories of the railway and heritage of northern Ontario, for audiences of all ages in the North Bay area.

North Bay and Area Disabled Adult and Youth Centre
$16,900 over one year to hire a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to manage volunteers and organize the centre's courses, job assistance programs and recreational activities.

North Bay Laurentian Ski Club
$9,000 over four months for the non-profit community ski hill to upgrade its chairlift for non-winter use, complete chalet maintenance, and produce marketing materials to promote the hill as a four-season destination.

The North Bay Literacy Council
$15,000 over six months to develop a Small Group Instruction program for students who need daily work on basic literacy skills, and to provide daily classroom time for individuals who require additional assistance.

North Bay Nordic Ski Club
$14,000 over six months to purchase and install outdoor lighting on 2 kilometers of trails for evening cross country skiing for the community of North Bay and area.

North Bay Social Planning Council
$25,000 over one year to cover the first year of non salary administrative and promotional costs of the Volunteer Centre of North Bay and Area, allowing this new agency to gain a track record and a visible profile in the community.

North Bay Theatre and Arts Community Centre (Capitol Centre)
$40,000 over two years to expand on the centre's Arts Education programming for performing and visual arts, with specific outreach to the francophone and First Nations communities.

Ontario Wellness/Pain Control Organization
$5,000 over one year to assist in the operation of the Wellness/Pain Control Program, the Wellness Reach Out Program, the Wellness Support Groups, and to increase the profile of this grassroots group.

Persons Ruling Over Disabilities
$24,600 over one year for a coordinator to provide transportation services to the physically challenged and the frail in the Tri-Town area and Dymond Township.

Resource Centre For Independent Living (RISE)
$25,000 over one year to hire an Office Manager/Area Coordinator to work 2/3 of the time in Parry Sound and 1/3 of the time in Muskoka to coordinate Accessibility Audits, Peer Support and Creative Linkages programs.

The Restoule and District Lions Club
$10,000 over three months to develop the land behind the Restoule Lions Playground into a park area for community use.

Rotary Club of Bracebridge
$10,000 over six months to update the Historical Mural of Bracebridge covering the period from 1973 to 2000; the mural will be shown at three or more public functions in Bracebridge and area.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #386
$20,000 over eight months for the Matachewan Legion to renovate its community hall so that it is wheelchair accessible, has more space for functions, and better lighting and ventilation.

Royal Canadian Legion Northern Memorial Branch 415 (Port Loring)
$15,000 over three months to purchase and build a protective shed for a generator for the community hall to use during frequent power outages.

Second Street Daycare Inc.
$23,500 over three years to assist the Second Street Daycare to provide infant daycare to support young parents with their efforts to stay in high school.

Seniors' Advocacy and Information/Referral Service of North Bay & Area
$25,000 over six months to assist in setting up a Seniors Talent Bank, a Seniors homes service program, a Shut In program, a Volunteer Visit program, and to increase the profile of this group to seniors and to the corporate sector.

Shawanaga Women's Group
$3,700 over one year to fund 6 traditional feasts to help bring the community of Shawanaga First Nations together.

Sound Learning Centre
$25,000 over one year to offer digital learning programs to learners who cannot work independently, and to provide technical and educational support through the Community Career Centre.

Sturgeon Falls Literacy Alliance
$17,000 over ten months to set up an after-school, youth drop-in centre to offer free, confidential literacy and numeracy assistance.

Sturgeon Falls Special Events Committee
$20,000 over two years to assist in financing nine major community events in the town of West Nipissing.

Temagami Area Fish Involvement Program
$9,000 over nine months to install an aeration system to upgrade a spawning pond for hatching walleye in the Temagami area.

Temagami First Nation
$9,000 over one to the Temagami First Nation Daycare project to provide workshops to staff, parents and the community on the operation and benefits of a daycare centre.

Temagami Health and Fitness Centre Inc.
$5,000 over one year to attract and train volunteers to provide health and fitness workshops and seminars, and to promote and advertise the new centre.

Timiskaming Brain Injury Association
$12,000 over nine months to purchase materials for public education and prevention initiatives, and to increase part-time staff hours for the development of a fundraising plan.

Timiskaming Home Support
$19,200 over two months to retrofit a donated van to safely transport wheelchairs that will permit the disabled, frail elderly and economically challenged of North Timiskaming some measure of mobility in the area.

Tot Town Parent Participating Preschool Incorporated
$10,000 over one year to assist with operating costs while the organization develops and institutes an effective business plan to re-secure adequate funding.

Tri Town Foundation
$19,800 over two years to help the community foundation get established by supporting some of its staffing, office and communication costs.

West Nipissing Contacts
$22,500 over three months for the purchase and installation of a Snoezelen Room in West Nipissing for recreational use by autistic and other clients in the region.

West Parry Sound Association for Community Living
$25,000 over two years to start a Family and Friends Support Network, which includes a part-time coordinator to set up support groups, a Sensory Room for developmentally disabled clients, a newsletter, school workshops, community information sessions and a major community event.

West Parry Sound Association for Community Living
$10,000 over one month to assist in the cost of lowering the 12 ft ceilings to 8ft in the West Parry Sound Association for Community Living offices and to convert from electric heat to gas heat by purchasing and installing gas furnaces.

West Parry Sound District Museum
$35,000 over one year to hire a collections manager and purchase the required computer technology to improve public access to the museum's collections by developing a docent volunteer program and developing a gallery guide.

White Water Gallery
$65,000 over one year for renovations that will allow the artist-run centre to offer workshop space within the gallery.

Whitney Seniors New Outlook
$25,000 over six months for renovations to the community centre, including the creation of an exercise room and space for meetings.
