$25,000 over one year to help establish a community arts centre that will promote creativity among students, adults and seniors.

$41,600 over one year to hire a manager to coordinate the preservation and promotion of Atikokan's mining history.
Northwestern Ontario Section - Canadian Institute of Forestry
$20,300 over 15 months to improve the Pennock Creek Sustainable Forestry Interpretive Trail and Demonstration Areas, including trail improvements, interpretive signage and a brochure.
Canadian Red Cross Society, Dryden and District Branch
$18,000 over one year to increase the number of instructors who provide babysitting, ChildSafe, PeopleSavers and Standard First Aid Courses throughout the region at no cost.
Canadian Red Cross Society, Thunder Bay and District Branch
$5,900 over two years to implement an identification replacement program for vulnerable citizens.
Chukuni Communities Development Corporation
$22,000 over one year to coordinate events in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Red Lake gold rush.
Crisis Homes Inc. (Faye Peterson Transition House)
$16,000 over one year to support the purchase of a new passenger van. Crisis Homes Inc. requires a van with child seats to transport women and their children to appointments and other engagements.
Geraldton District Search and Rescue Unit
$7,300 over six months as follows: $5,000 for outreach (preventative training); $1,500 for office expenses; and $800 for safety brochures.
Grand Council Treaty #3
$30,000 over six months in support of the Celebration of Treaty #3 Anishinaabe Achievers project. This includes funding towards the production and distribution of a commemorative book and video.
HAGI's Independent Living Services For Thunder Bay Inc.
$14,500 over one year to support public outreach, office rental, furniture and computer equipment, and a part-time administrative position.
HAGI Kids' Connection
$140,000 over two years for a pilot project to enhance a program which provides individuals with physical disabilities the skills and supports needed to live in the community and maintain their maximum level of independence and participation.
John Howard Society of Thunder Bay
$144,000 over two years to support the establishment of three staff positions at the new John Howard Society Transition House.
Kenora Assembly of Resources
$24,000 over 18 months for a staff person who will attract new community partners to provide financial and in-kind support to the Kenora Youth Drop-In Centre.
Kenora Metis Council
$69,400 over two years to gather and catalogue historical information for the development of a public genealogical resource for the Kenora area.
Kitchenuhmaykoosib Equaygamik (Women's Shelter)
$29,000 over one year for operational support. The Women's Circle encourages women in decision-making in five areas of the community: political awareness; business and economic development; education and training; family violence; and, traditional role of women.
Lake of the Woods Development Centre
$25,000 over one year to hire a coordinator for the Triple PLAY program, which encourages youth from low-income families to participate in recreation activities by providing free or subsidized spaces.
Lappe Nordic Ski Club
$25,000 over six months to support Thunder Bay in hosting the 2000 Canadian Junior and Senior Cross-Country Skiing Championships.
Le Club des Francophones
$25,000 over six months to install a sound & light system in the Longlac Francophone Cultural Centre to allow them to host local and touring French language musical and theatrical performances.
The Lions Club of Fort Frances
$22,500 over one year to support the improvement of the Lions Club park/playground in a concentrated area of Fort Frances.
Macgillivray Pipe Band of Thunder Bay, The
$14,300 over one year to upgrade band uniforms. The band promotes Scottish culture and provide public performances in communities around the region.
Marathon Renegades Junior "B" Hockey Club
$15,000 over three years to provide enhanced training for coaches and local referees and to provide volunteer and team training about sexual assault and racial issues.
Multiple Organ Retrieval and Exchange Program of Ontario
$4,000 over six months to establish a garden at the La Verendrye Hospital as a reminder for people to sign their organ donor cards.
Nipigon Red Rock and District Association for Community Living
$20,000 over four months to support the hiring of a coordinator to assist families with children and adults with developmental disabilities to access summer leisure activities.
Nipigon Silver Club Inc.
$10,500 over one year to upgrade the Nipigon Silver Club seniors' centre including new roofing, insulation, siding, windows and exterior door.
R.A. Strain #85 Navy League Cadet Corps
$19,000 over six months for operational support. This includes uniforms and camping equipment to enhance social and recreational opportunities for youth aged 10-13. The equipment will be made available to other youth organizations in the community.
Rabbit Lake Community Club Incorporated
$13,300 over one year to purchase tables and chairs, computer equipment, hockey nets, and outdoor benches.
Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 32 - Nipigon
$25,000 over six months toward the purchase of a para-transit van to assist seniors and people with disabilities in Nipigon, Red Rock and other area communities.
Stratton Recreation Society
$12, 500 over six months for a variety of equipment including tables and chairs, a curling ice scraper, a kitchen range, cooler and refrigerator.
Superior Cross Country Ski Club
$14,500 over six months to purchase ski trail grooming equipment.
Thunder Bay 55 Plus Advisory Board
$40,500 over one year to enhance outdoor recreational opportunities through the replacement of a garden enclosure.
Thunder Bay 2002 Clean & Green
$110,200 over three years to support environmental awareness and education across the region, with an emphasis on water and energy conservation, waste reduction, pollution prevention and urban greenspaces.
Thunder Bay Art Gallery
$35,000 over six months to upgrade and purchase new environmental equipment for the gallery, including a control system, specialized shipping door, gallery isolation doors, an isolation vestibule and fire doors.
Thunder Bay Coalition Against Poverty
$78,000 over two years to support operations and new projects such as computer training for low-income families, volunteer advocate training and the development of a sustainability plan.
Thunder Bay Diving Club
$50,000 over one year to upgrade and purchase new diving equipment.
Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society
$8,900 over six months to upgrade the Museum in a Suitcase school curriculum kits.
Thunder Bay Regional Arts Council
$20,000 over two years to hire a part-time events and Web site administrator and to purchase new computer equipment.
United Way of Thunder Bay
$65,800 over one year to expand their office. This involves renovating adjacent space and providing barrier-free washrooms to increase access and organizational effectiveness.
Volunteer Action Centre of Thunder Bay
$17,800 over four years for computer equipment, Internet access, phone lines, and two sets of volunteer management training videos.
Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation
$47,800 over one year to establish a student resource centre and life skills programs for adults.
