Achievement in Motion $206,000 over four years to firmly establish an economically viable business in growing and selling herbs and herb-related products, employing at least twenty-five members of this psychosocial rehabilitation program for consumers of the mental health system.
The AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Area $142,000 over three years to build a new approach to education and prevention programs which includes a "train the trainer" program so that other organizations can include information and education about HIV/AIDS in their own regular services and programs.
Argus Residence for Young People $24,000 over nine months to design and implement an Integrating Community Youth project for more than 40 high risk youth who will be actively involved in identifying resources, service gaps, and making changes in their community.
Cambridge Association for the Mentally Handicapped $10,000 over one year for specialized equipment, aids and software to enable clients to communicate and have better access to information, employment and learning opportunities.
Cambridge Community Foundation $3,500 over one month to upgrade computer equipment and build a more comprehensive grant management system.
Cambridge Volunteer Bureau $24,000 over three years to design and implement a Young Leaders Program that will mentor and train youth (aged 16 to 20) in leadership and governance within the non-profit sector.
Catholic Family Counselling Centre $138,000 over 30 months to develop management and evaluation software so the centre can integrate reports and compare outcomes among its clinical and community outreach programs. This learning will be shared with other organizations across Ontario.
Central Ontario Developmental Riding Program $98,000 over three years to strengthen the organizational capacity of the Central Ontario Development Riding Program, a therapeutic and recreational riding program for over 200 children and adults with disabilities.
The Company of Neighbours $6,000 over four months to support the community consultation process to develop a shared vision and to provide a set of community priorities and recommendations for the next steps in the process for the community of Hespler.
The Conflict Resolution Centre for Guelph-Wellington $50,000 over one year for the administrative resources for the Conflict Resolution for Guelph-Wellington to provide low cost alternative conflict resolution services and education to victims in Guelph and Wellington.
The Disability Self-esteem Council $16,000 over 18 months for evaluation of the organization's information publications and for long-term planning for this new organization which reaches out to the disabled community to provide unavailable material dealing with sensitive issues.
Dufferin Arts Council $15,000 over two years to support the Dufferin Arts Council to undertake four new programs which brings together local artists, youth, parent groups, teachers, social workers and others to foster participation, creativity and skills in the arts.
Dufferin Volunteer Centre $120, 000 over three years to assist this new organization in meeting the documented need for volunteers in all not-for-profit sectors and in developing a culture of volunteerism throughout all sectors within Dufferin County.
The Elizabeth Fry Society of Kitchener-Waterloo $78,200 over two years for the volunteer development program and evaluation component of the Elizabeth Fry Society.
The Feeling Better Group $78,800 over three years to design, implement and evaluate the Feeling Better program, a home exercise pilot project for the frail elderly in the Guelph and Wellington area.
Focus for Ethnic Women $90,000 over three years to support a new industrial sewing business that will give new Canadians marketable skills and eventually generate self-sustaining revenue.
Grey Wellington Theatre Guild $75,000 over one year towards the upgrade of the Grey Wellington Theatre and to renovate the old Town Hall in Harriston into a multi-use accessible facility for the performing arts and broader community.
Guelph Arts Council $20,000 over three months to support the Visionary Tradition conference, a five-day interdisciplinary event that brings together poets, writers, musicians and dramatic performers.
Guelph Community Foundation $100,000 over three years to allow this community foundation to firmly establish itself in the community, raise sufficient funds to offer its first grants in 2002 and become self-sustaining in administration costs.
The Guelph Jazz Festival $70,000 over two years for operational costs to enable the Guelph Jazz Festival to build an infrastructure that will sustain the Festival on a long term basis and better accommodate its steady growth.
Guelph Spring Festival $5,000 over one month to support the community evens sessions at the Guelph Spring Festival, a community event bringing both classical and contemporary music to the people in a way which removes barriers.
Guelph-Wellington Association for Community Living $8,200 over one year to upgrade/enhance an existing snoezelen room in the Guelph Wellington Association for Community Living (GWACL) to provide visual, olfactory and tactile stimulation to children and adults with a disability.
Guelph Wellington Seniors Association $60,000 over six months to renovate newly acquired space that will allow the Association to accommodate the growing number of seniors who wish to participate in its more than 30 programs and activities.
Guelph Youth Music Centre $75,000 over one year to support work on a building of historical significance that will serve as a teaching, rehearsal, and performance facility for children's cultural programs in and around Guelph.
Homer Watson House and Gallery $25,000 over six months to renovate an on-site heritage Coach House building so visual arts programs can be expanded in partnership with local schools, college and the conservation authority.
Hospice Dufferin $75,000 over three years for the development and implementation of a 3 year operational plan to increase organizational capacity and program expansion over the long term.
Hospice of Waterloo Region $169,000 over three years to increase the organizational capacity of Hospice Waterloo Region, to respond to the demand for new and expanded services for individuals and their families who are terminally ill in our community.
J.M. Drama Alumni $25,000 over one month toward the equipment renewal plan, which shares safe, modern and efficient equipment with community groups throughout Waterloo Region.
J. Steckle Heritage Homestead $105,000 over two years for the program development and renovation costs of a "heritage teaching kitchen" that will provide children, parents and community groups a practical learning experience about the growing, preparation and preservation of food.
Kids Can Play Association of Cambridge $2,000 over one year to help market their services so that they can subsidize more financially disadvantaged children for participation in sports, arts and cultural, recreation and other community programs.
Kitchener Horticultural Society $10,000 over one year for the restoration of 65 year old Janzen Fountains to enhance the botanical gardens at Rockway Gardens in Kitchener.
The Kitchener Minor Hockey Association $6,000 over three days to conduct coaching clinics and information sessions for parents during Ontario Hockey Federations Midget "A" Championship held in Kitchener, Ontario.
The Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery $13,800 over four months to work with youth at risk and other students, using various arts forms to increase their understanding of art and how it can be applied in their own lives.
Kitchener-Waterloo Extend-A -Family $95,000 over 19 months to support the renovation costs to make the new facility accessible and to provide resources for human resource procedures and policies and the summer staff for program integration.
Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony $10,000 over month months towards the Education Series of the Kitchener's Open Ears Festival of Music and Sound, a 6 day holistic festival of music and sound running May 19-24 in Kitchener.
K-W Water Polo Club $17,000 over one year to purchase portable nets, balls and equipment for the Water Polo sport to increase productiveness in play and to raise awareness through free water polo clinics to children ages 7-10 and their families.
Langs Farm Village Association $133,900 over two years to design and implement a pilot program that provides life skills, counseling and educational opportunities to youth (aged 12 to 15) with mental health, social and/or developmental problems.
Lutherwood Community Development $25,000 over one year to support training and outreach related to the future sustainability of the food service, employment training and job placement program.
Marillac Place $75,000 over six months for renovations to upgrade and repair a 17 room home and coach house, a residential facility and referral and outreach service for young women-led families.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving - Wellington County Chapter $3,300 for the education, promotion and evaluation of "Racing Against Drugs", a community-based drug and alcohol awareness program.
Mount Forest Agricultural Society $2,000 over three months for the Ambassador of the Fair event for youth, a special anniversary event that will bring 40 youth ambassadors together to promote the importance of youth involvement in agriculture and the broader community.
Neighbours Helping Neighbours $189,300 over three years to strengthen the organizational capacity of two multi-service organizations that provide services to central and eastern parts of Wellington County.
Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement $92,000 over two years for OCETA (Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology) and the Environment Business Source to develop and build a broader awareness of good environmental business practices throughout the CTT community.
The Optimist Club of Wilmot $52,400 over one year to support the Community Rejuvenation Project, a plan to renovate a building for use as a community meeting centre.
Orangeville Concert Association $15,000 over three years to help market local, professional concerts of jazz and classical music in an effort to increase ticket sales and return to the stability the association has known over the past 25 years.
Orangeville Women's Community Centre $25,000 over a 14 months period to provide organizational development support to the Orangeville Women's Community Centre (OWCC) for the organization to become self-relient.
Planned Parenthood Waterloo Region $22,800 over three years towards the production and evaluation of a student play called Live On Stage Uncensored! The peer theatre education troupe consists of high school students who bring healthy sexuality messages to students in grades 7 through to 12.
Project 2000+ $65,000 over one year for the program development and implementation of an outdoor educational program for the proposed Aquatic Resource Centre for Wellington County.
Project Read Literacy Network $93,300 over two years to develop and assess a comprehensive literacy partnership model.
Puslinch Lake Conservation Association $25,000 over eight months to develop a comprehensive plan that includes marketing and fundraising strategies and an environmental assessment of the Puslinch Lake Rehabilitation Project.
Ramoth Life Centre $22,500 over six months to complete the renovations needed to turn an old nursing home into a maternity home for high risk youth in Wellington County and surrounding areas.
The Rotary Club of Shelburne $25,000 over six months to develop a broadly-based community festival and marketing plan that will include groups across all sectors of the community in building on the fifty year history of Shelburne's Canadian Old Time Fiddle Contest.
Scouts Canada South Waterloo District Council $53,400 over six months to upgrade Scout House and its parking lot so the community facility can be better used by Scouts and many other community organizations.
Sex Assault Education Committee $17,000 over two years to support a program that uses theatre to increase awareness about sexual assault issues among high school students in the Upper Grand School District.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul : Particular Council- Cambridge / Société St-Vincent de Paul, Cambridge $10,000 over one month toward the purchase of a new cube van to help run the society's store for used, donated furniture and to assist other organizations who work with persons living in poverty.
Southwood Community Centre $7,000 over five months for a volunteer coordinator to work with the Christopher Champlain, Greenway Chaplin and Southwood Community Centre associations to develop a volunteer network for the three neighbourhoods.
Sunrise Equestrian & Recreation Centre $48,000 over one year for renovation costs associated to make barn facilities barrier free and develop a children's activity centre as part of the Sunrise Equestrian and Recreation Centre for the Disabled.
Theatre Orangeville $24,000 over eight months to redesign corporate marketing materials and mount an intensive advertising campaign for both their own professional theatre productions and for other arts/cultural organizations/events housed in the Orangeville Town Hall House.
United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries $25,000 over 16 months to work with business and member agencies to reduce the number of people living below the poverty line by a total of 200 families.
United Way Community Services of Guelph and Wellington $22,000 over six months to develop a long-term marketing plan and associated materials to communicate a community well-being report to internal and external stakeholders and the broader community.
Walter Bean Grand River Community Trails Corporation $163,000 over three years for the marketing and coordination of the Walter Bean Trail, a trail that is being created to enhance our greatest natural resource, the Grand River.
Waterloo Active Living Club Program $54,400 over two years to coordinate a program for the frail elderly in underserved rural areas and to develop a comprehensive plan that incorporates this program into the current delivery system.
Waterloo County & Area Quilt Festival $23,000 over 16 months to expand the May 2000 Waterloo County and Area Quilt Festival.
Waterloo Regional Children's Museum $150,000 over two years for the new Waterloo Regional Children's Museum, an interactive educational resource centre using technology and art for children and their families opening in September 2001in the downtown core of Kitchener.
Waterloo Regional Synchronized Swimming Club $23,000 over one year specifically for bridging funds applied to the cost of renting the facility, underwater sound system and computer equipment used for competitions.
Waterloo-Wellington Children's Groundwater Festival $25,000 over one year for the development of a 3-year strategic plan and fund development strategy to build the operational capacity of the Waterloo-Welllington Groundwater Festival.
Wellington County Historical Society $15,000 over a six month period towards the creation of a volunteer driven Peel Township History Book for the Township of Peel that has recently been amalgamated with the village of Dryton.
Wilmot Family Resource Centre Inc. $57,600 over 18 months to expand the Healthy Start program, which teaches children (aged 3 to 8) primary skills in conflict resolution, anger management, listening and communication.
The Working Centre $120,000 over two years for a revitalization project. The grant is for renovation costs of a building to assist under/employed persons gain access to the job market and support a Reycle Cycle program.
World Wide Opportunities for Women $182,500 over three years to implement the Home Energy Saver Project, a program to educate and raise awareness among new Canadians about energy and water conservation, and the handling and disposal of hazardous household products.
Wyndham House $161,400 over three years to build the capacity of the cooperative living and learning environment for young women (aged 16 to 21) who would otherwise be homeless, and to strengthen its community outreach, marketing and fundraising capabilities.
YWCA of Kitchener-Waterloo $57,400 over two years to support the evaluation and implementation of a wellness program for people with fibromyalgia to improve their daily functioning and participation in community life, through increased self management and peer support
YMCA/Rotary Children's Centre Feasibility Study $25,000 over six months to support a feasibility study that will determine the best use for a parcel of land and ensure that community needs are met and revenue is generated, so organizations can be self-reliant in the long term.
