$25,000 over six months to conduct a province-wide needs assessment and prepare a detailed work plan to strengthen the provincial network and support of people with mood disorders who are not currently being supported because of geographic or social isolation.

$200,700 over 18 months to develop a Regional Sport and Recreation Council to provide recreational and sport activities to James Bay area youth and to host a Youth Conference in May 2002.

$140,100 over two years to help establish volunteer community mediation programs in three cities in Ontario. The program has proven to be a successful alternate dispute mechanism that saves the police and courts time and money.

$203,400 over 18 months to support a community-based street proofing program for children that includes print resources, mascots and an interactive Web site, and to develop a strategy for long-term sustainability.

Swim Ontario
$55,500 over four years to develop and maintain a Web site which promotes a grassroots program aimed at keeping swimmers at the novice level from dropping out.

The Barbara Parry Paediatric Oncology Association
$180,000 over two years to produce "Carla Can Sing" gift packages in both English and French, and deliver them to children between the ages of 4 and 12 who have been diagnosed with cancer or are being actively treated at one of the pediatric cancer centres in Ontario; and to develop a plan for long-term sustainability.

$25,000 over one year to support the development of a new organization designed to facilitate multi-disciplinary cultural programming for children and youth across the province.

$180,000 over three years to expand Car Heaven, a program that is designed to accelerate the retirement of older high polluting vehicles and thereby improve the environment.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
$139,200 over two years to recruit and train volunteer mentors for a youth development and recognition program that will focus on youth living in the inner city, and in rural, Aboriginal and Northern communities.

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region
$569,000 over three years, in collaboration with the Ontario Association of Food Banks, to develop a model to expand the collection and delivery of donated food from the food industry to food banks in south western Ontario.

The Hearing Foundation of Canada
$23,600 over one year to fund the Ontario portion of the Newborn Hearing Screening Video Educational Program which will increase awareness of the benefits of early hearing screening and participation in screening programs.

$127,000 over two years to build the organization's capacity to produce "Born to Read," a literacy guide designed to encourage family learning.

$194,900 over three and a half years to increase public awareness, protection, and monitoring of seven reptiles that are species-at-risk or endangered in the Georgian Bay area.

United Senior Citizens of Ontario Inc.
$122,100 over six months to encourage and recruit senior volunteers through a Seniors Volunteer Awards program and an 18-day volunteer exhibit and fair at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto.

$500,000 over two years to allow Variety and its affiliates, Variety Village and Variety Ability Systems Inc. to continue to provide programs, services and prosthetic devices to children with special needs while developing a plan for sustainability.

Victorian Order of Nurses of Canada (VON)
$382,800 over two years to assist VON Canada with the restructuring process which will help branches work more cooperatively and more efficiently in delivering a variety of nursing care services.

Voices of Positive Women
$183,900 over two years to enable this organization which provides support for women with HIV/AIDS to stabilize its operations and prepare for growth by acquiring new computer equipment, training, marketing and organizational development support for volunteers.

$533,000 over 30 months to identify and support grassroots, citizen-based organizations through the Ontario Volunteer Centre Network.

West Parry Sound District Museum
$20,000 over one year to help museums from Guelph, Peterborough, Welland and West Parry Sound launch the Ontario leg of a national tour that profiles local history.

World Wildlife Fund Canada
$46,000 over one year to stimulate a reduction in the amount of pesticides used on agricultural crops produced in Ontario by working with apple growers who use Integrated Pest Management and retailers to market 'ecological' apples.

World Youth Days 2002 Council/Le Conseil des journées mondiales de la jeunesse 2002
$500,000 over 18 months to support the training of at least 25,000 volunteers from across Ontario who will assist approximately 750,000 youth from around the world who will be participating in World Youth Days 2002.

Youth Tobacco Coalition
$65,000 over one year to establish a board structure representative of youth in Ontario in order to implement youth-led smoking cessation strategies.

YWCA of Hamilton
$72,800 over one year to develop the Community Builders: Youth Volunteers model intended to attract and retain more youth volunteers while providing opportunities to enhance their social and work-related skills.
