Action-Logement $25,000 over eight months to reduce the need for legal aid by creating resources that will enable the organization to help its clients understand and participate in housing tribunal proceedings.
Alternative Learning Styles and Outlooks Ottawa Inc. $25,000 over six months to develop and implement a family literacy project in four locations in Ottawa. This project will help parents increase their literacy level so that they can better support their children, especially in the early years.
Association communautaire de Prescott-Russell $35,000 over one year to improve the organization's capacity to operate its used furniture and second-hand clothing stores and food bank services for low-income households in Prescott-Russell.
Aultsville Theatre $75,000 over one year for upgrades and renovations to the theatre.
Baobab Young Performers $24,000 over three years to help support operational costs for this performing company that teaches music and rhythm from West Africa to local Ottawa youth aged 12 to 18.
Barrhaven Girls Basketball Association $31,200 over one year to enhance basketball programs for local area girls by purchasing playing and office equipment and providing training to the association’s coaches and volunteers.
Barry's Bay and Area Minor Hockey Association c/o Ottawa and District Minor Hockey Association $25,700 over one year to enhance the organization's capacity to provide quality training and a safe environment for young players from Barry's Bay and eight nearby communities.
Beaver Boxing Club $48,000 over eight months to help renovate a training facility for boxing that will attract both male and female athletes, in order to meet an increase in demand.
Bel-Air Copeland Lions Sports Club $35,300 over one year to purchase computers and new playing, safety and audio-visual training equipment in order to provide safe sports and recreational programs to boys and girls throughout the area.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cornwall and District Inc. $66,200 over three years to continue to operate the Big Bunch Friendship Program and the In-School Mentoring Programs, initiatives which create opportunities for children to participate in social activities with adult volunteers.
Big Sisters Big Brothers Ottawa $65,000 over six months to renovate office space shared by two organizations that are merging in order to deliver better mentoring programs for children and youth of Ottawa.

Canadian Film Institute-Ottawa International Animation Festival $9,100 over three months to upgrade facilities and create an animation resource centre with a collection of reference materials which will be available to the public.
Canadian Hearing Society, Ottawa Region $63,000 over two years to coordinate a project aimed at increasing community awareness and improving the ability for agencies to offer services to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people.
Canadian Office of Human Rights $7,500 over three months to upgrade the computer system of this community-based organization that helps ex-offenders and disadvantaged people in the Ottawa area acquire marketable skills and secure employment.
Canadian Red Cross/Croix-Rouge canadienne, Renfrew County and District Branch $21,400 over six months to upgrade the entrance-way to a facility used by the Canadian Red Cross, the Canadian Cancer Society and Renfrew Handi-Bus so that it will continue to be accessible to clients, volunteers and employees with limited mobility.
Canadian Theatre Festival Society $50,000 over nine months to support outreach to schools and community groups in the Ottawa area to build strong local participation in “Magnetic North,” a new theatre festival and symposium initiative.
Canadian Tulip Festival / Festival canadien des tulipes $20,000 over nine months to provide free entertainment, arts programming, and supplies to enable the participation of low-income families in the Festival’s Family Zone while also creating new volunteer opportunities.
Canadian Urban Music Festival $14,000 over seven months to cover some marketing and equipment expenses for a three-day Urban Music Festival in Ottawa in September 2002. The festival gives musicians the opportunity to showcase their talent and attracts tourists to the area.
Capital Feis Association $22,600 over one year to support the annual festival of Irish dancing by purchasing communications and safety equipment to stage this popular event that attracts tourists to the region.
Carlingwood - Frank Ryan Little League Baseball Association $40,000 over one year to purchase office, field maintenance and baseball equipment for this league which offers programs to children aged five to 18.
Causeway Work Centre Inc. $130,100 over two years to support continued growth and expansion of Krackers Katering, an agency- sponsored business providing employment and training opportunities for mental health consumers and survivors.
The Central Canada Exhibition Association $25,000 over six months to produce an interactive exhibit that dispels myths that urban people harbour about agriculture, in order to build bridges and develop better understanding between city dwellers and rural citizens.
Central Children's Choir of Ottawa-Carleton $44,100 over 30 months to support two community-based choirs, ongoing concerts, a conducting symposium and the production of a CD marking the 45th anniversary of the choir.

Christie Lake Community Centres $48,900 over one year to renovate the summer camp’s washrooms, replace windows and doors in the dining hall and finish the meeting area, in order to offer a high quality and safe facility for youth at risk.
Church Council on Justice and Corrections $24,900 over one year to continue the Collaborative Justice Project in the Ottawa area, and to support two other Ontario communities in establishing similar initiatives in their communities.
City Stream Watch Steering Committee c/o Heron Park Community Association $28,400 over nine months for the City Stream Watch to increase awareness of urban streams and creeks, and to train community volunteers to monitor and report on shoreline vegetation in local city streams.
Club Colombien de Hawkesbury Inc. $25,000 over six months for improvements to enhance the safety and sustainability of a facility used for a wide variety of community and leisure activities.
Club d'âge d'or '50' Hawkesbury Inc. $15,000 over six months to enable the group to offer a wider range of leisure activities to its 450 members by purchasing new recreational equipment.
Club du Musée de l'Ancien Inc. $20,000 over six months to upgrade facilities and equipment so that the agricultural museum in Casselman can provide more interactive demonstrations featuring antique farming equipment.
Club Optimiste de Curran $10,000 over two months to host an annual soccer tournament, which will attract close to 1,000 young Franco-Ontarians from across the province to the rural communities of Plantagenet and Alfred.
Club Optimiste de Green Valley $12,000 over six months to support the Green Valley Western Music Festival which will attract over 600 participants from local communities during the three-day event held in July 2002.
Club Powers/Chevaliers de Colomb $45,000 over six months to ensure continued accessibility and upgrade quality and security of the facility, which is being used by a variety of community organizations.
Club Richelieu de Casselman $10,000 over three months to support the participation of youth and community members in producing a theatre event promoting the varied art forms within the Franco-Ontarian culture.
Cobden Agricultural Society $20,000 over six months to enhance the organization's capacity to effectively run its four-day Agricultural Fair and to provide suitable facilities for the many community functions that are held on the site.
Community Foundation of Ottawa $25,000 over three months to develop a business plan and needs assessment for implementing a sustainable initiative that would provide ongoing training and support to environmental organizations throughout eastern Ontario.
Community Resource Centre (Killaloe) Inc. $48,500 over one year to support volunteers and community organizations in establishing a local community resource centre in the Town of Renfrew. Community Skiways Inc./Mount Martin Ski Club $13,000 over six months to enhance safety by improving the communications system and lighting on a run that is used by young skiers.
Community-Based Research Network c/o Social Planning Council of Ottawa $42,800 over two years to create and maintain a one-stop online community research resource that will enable social service organizations and the public to access data and tools that will enhance program design, effectiveness and efficiency.
Coordinated Transport Project c/o Community Living Renfrew County South $25,000 over three months to establish a coordinated transportation service that will enable five community organizations to increase access to employment, recreation and support programs for people with special needs.
Cornwall Curling Club $17,700 over three months to purchase curling stones and training aids for the club’s youth program.
Cornwall District Minor Baseball Inc. $57,900 over one year to renew playing and safety equipment for the teams, purchase groundskeeping tools to renovate the fields and materials to upgrade the ball diamonds and t-ball fields.
Cornwall Wildcats Football Club $14,500 over six months to expand the programs being offered by the club by creating a new Bantam team for young teenagers.
Council of Heritage Organizations in Ottawa/ Conseil des organismes du patrimoine d'Ottawa $98,700 over three years to support the operations and programs of this Ottawa-area heritage umbrella group whose members work to preserve, promote and celebrate local heritage.
Cumberland Grads Junior Hockey Club $22,600 over one year to purchase safety and playing equipment and undertake promotional activities that will enable volunteers to operate the club to its full potential.
D.I.A.M.O.N.D.S. $10,600 over one year to increase access to a historic lockmaster’s house that serves as interpretative centre on seaway heritage by installing a ramp, and supporting outreach and marketing initiatives.
Deep River Lawn Bowling Club $8,100 over three months to replace outdated greens maintenance equipment in order to operate the premises more efficiently, which are used by seniors who want to remain active.
Disabled Persons Community Resources $75,000 over three years to support operating costs of a centralized Information and Resource Centre for persons with disabilities, their families and service providers in Ottawa.
Down Syndrome Association - National Capital Region $91,000 over two years to establish the H'Art of Ottawa program which provides opportunities for people with special needs to acquire greater independence through the development of their artistic and literacy skills.
Earth Day Ottawa $30,100 over two years to support annual events for students and the public such as the EcoForum and Solar Sprint, and for administrative support and marketing tools.
L'Équipe d'hygiène mentale pour les enfants, adolescents et familles de Stormont, Dundas et Glengarry $52,700 over two years to implement in two local schools, for the first time in Canada, the French adaptation of FAST, a well recognized prevention program developed by Family Service Canada that helps children who have academic or behaviour problems.
Epilepsy (Ontario) Ottawa-Carleton $25,000 over one year to develop the organization’s fundraising capacity in order to provide ongoing services, educational programs and support for self-help groups for people living with epilepsy in the area.
Festival 4-15, Ottawa Festival of the Arts for Young Audiences $155,000 over three years to promote the Festival 4-15, ensure the festival’s continued development and provide a community outreach initiative aimed at schools and community organizations.
Festival franco-ontarien $42,000 over one year to enable the festival to present emerging artists and attract new participants by supporting its marketing and audience development initiatives and enhancing volunteer coordination.
Festival franco-ontarien $20,500 over four months to produce media ads and materials, as well as a revamped Web site, to promote the five-day festival, local artists and Franco-Ontarian community and culture. This festival attracts several thousand visitors each day to Ottawa.
Football Canada $11,000 over two years to help host the Football Canada Cup in Ottawa, in which close to 220 young players at the Junior level will participate.
Friends of Petrie Island (FOPI) $11,600 over two years to continue an environmental awareness and protection program to enhance and promote this unique wetland and island complex on the Ottawa River.
Friends of the Carp River $50,000 over eight months to create an environmental plan for the Carp River. Sound land management practices and possible revitalization projects will be proposed for discussions with land owners, the public and prospective implementation partners.
Friends of the Macdonnell-Williamson House/Les amis de la maison Macdonnell-Williamson $34,500 over two years to assist the volunteer heritage group to develop marketing initiatives to increase attendance and revenues and to raise community awareness towards restoration of this national historic site in East Hawkesbury.
Glengarry Pipe Band Assn. Inc. $25,000 over six months to purchase new band uniforms that will increase the Grade 2 and Grade 4 bands' ability to compete and perform.
Gloucester Rangers Jr. 'A' Hockey Club/Club de hockey les Rangers de Gloucester Jr. 'A' $55,100 over one year to replace outdated safety and playing equipment and acquire current technology and training tools to enable volunteers to operate the club to its full potential.
Goulbourn Aquatic Club $16,500 over six months to help provide quality training to young swimmers in the Goulbourn area and expand services to include an adult Masters program.
Heartwood House : au coeur de la vie $190,000 over three years to support the operations of Heartwood House, which provides space and opportunities for 12 local non-profit agencies to share administrative resources and undertake creative partnership initiatives.
Heritage Ottawa $9,700 over 14 months to prepare a bilingual booklet to guide walking tours of neighbourhoods containing unique terra cotta architecture. The initiative will promote local heritage and tourism.
Hopewell Eating Disorders Support Centre of Ottawa $55,000 over two years to help develop and implement services for people with eating disorders and establish an Ottawa network of professionals working in this field.
Huntley Curling Club $14,500 over three months to purchase curling stones and fitness equipment and to train volunteer instructors for the junior curling program. Area youth will benefit.
Invitation, The Quilt of Belonging $55,200 over one year to create a work of art reflecting the textile, social, and cultural histories of numerous Canadian ethnic and aboriginal groups.
Jewish Family Services of Ottawa-Carleton $78,000 over three years to provide specialized training, monitoring and networking opportunities for senior volunteers who deliver services to other seniors and link up with youth in schools.
JiaHua Chinese Canadian Association of Ottawa $25,000 over one year to set up a number of cultural, artistic and recreational activities in Mandarin for seniors from the Chinese-Canadian community in Ottawa.
John Howard Society of Ottawa $30,700 over six months to purchase furniture and appliances for 16 units in a transitional independent living facility for homeless youth who have been involved with the justice system, supporting their successful reintegration into the community.
Junior Achievement of Ottawa-Carleton $160,000 over three years to provide administrative support that will enable the organization to deliver Junior Achievement programs on a regional basis and to strengthen its sustainability.
Kanata Youth Centre $65,000 over two years to support a variety of programs and structured recreational activities for high-risk youth aged 12 to 17.
LiveWorkPlay (LWP) $25,000 over six months to upgrade facilities in order to offer woodworking workshops and cooking instruction to young people with developmental disabilities. Both initiatives assist in the transition from school to a productive life in the community.
The Lost Villages Historical Society $12,600 over one year to help restore the Forbes Memorial Reading Room of the Lost Villages Museum, a designated heritage site visited by close to 6,000 people a year that will become a year-round resource centre for the community and visitors.
Madawaska Valley Community Arts Council $25,000 over one year to support the ongoing programs and activities offered by the South of 60 Arts Centre, a community-based gallery and art centre in the Barry's Bay region.
La Maison des Arts $45,800 over eight months to help renovate a landmark building in Embrun and purchase sound and light equipment in order to create a multi-service community facility that will be used for a wide range of cultural programs and activities.
Manor Park Community Council $25,000 over one year to offer a preschool program for Manor Park community residents that provides important social, educational and health benefits to young children.
Manotick Curling Centre $60,900 over one year to renew and enhance a curling facility by replacing its ice plant equipment and heating system in order to better serve the community and ensure the centre’s long-term sustainability.
March Tennis Club Inc. $33,000 over eight months to upgrade the club's facilities and increase the current membership of 500 players.
Mentoring In School Partnership c/o Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa-Carleton $70,000 over one year to support the continuation and expansion of an adult mentor program for at-risk youth in schools across Ottawa, providing role models that help develop caring and healthy relationships.
Metcalfe Agricultural Society $25,000 over five years to promote the annual Metcalfe Agricultural Fair and celebrate agricultural life in the community. The fair has an average of 35,000 visitors per year and close to 300 volunteers help organize it.
The Mission $50,000 over three months to provide the Mission's Hospice for the Homeless with a wheelchair-accessible van which will be used by its palliative care clients, many of whom are very ill or have severely limited mobility.
Morrisburg and District Lions Club $33,000 over one year to further develop a local mural project that depicts significant historical events and market it as a major tourist attraction.
Morrisburg Golf Club $30,000 over six months to install a new irrigation system that will use water from a nearby river rather than drawing from the municipal water treatment system.
National Capital Tennis Association $42,800 over two years to promote tennis in the community through education and volunteer recruitment. OTF funding will enable the association to purchase equipment, produce promotional materials and hold workshops.
Navan Lions Club $13,500 over two years to provide life-skills workshops to trainers and youth as part of the Lions-Quest Life skills program.
Nepean Raiders Jr. 'A' Hockey Club $68,700 over one year to purchase office equipment to produce marketing tools as well as playing and training equipment to assist staff and volunteers in offering a high level hockey club for young players aged 15 to 20.
New Edinburgh Community Alliance $2,000 over three months to help transform a centennial tree that is diseased into a statue in a local park as part of a community art and environmental improvement project.
Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Renfrew Branch c/o Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals $44,500 over two years to further develop and provide comprehensive ongoing humane education programs to local schools and youth community groups in Renfrew County, fostering greater understanding and respect for animals and reducing cases of abuse.
Opera Lyra Ottawa $100,000 over three years to support a third venue in order to increase the number of performances and reach new audiences.
Orleans Bengals Football Club $25,000 over one year to purchase quality equipment to provide a safer and professional environment for boys and girls aged seven to 17. The addition of a five-person blocking sled will improve players’ skills and techniques.
Ottawa 67's Foundation $25,000 over six months to produce two videos, one for youth and one for adults, addressing the problem of bullying among youth, to be used as educational tools in schools and other settings.
Ottawa Beavers-Banshees Rugby Football Club $13,400 over eight months to purchase equipment and uniforms for this community football club serving area youth.
Ottawa Bluesfest $125,500 over two years to support the “Blues in the Schools” program, an educational initiative of the Ottawa Bluesfest created to encourage knowledge and appreciation of “blues” music among youth in the Ottawa area. Another OTF grant of $10,000 from the Quinte area will enable the program to be offered to Kingston-area youth.
Ottawa Community Economic Development Network c/o Social Planning Council of Ottawa $96,400 over two years to further promote and to enhance the capacity of local groups and agencies to develop community economic development initiatives designed to generate employment opportunities especially for disadvantaged residents.
Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization $85,000 over three years to enable the organization to involve more volunteers in supporting recent immigrants and to provide opportunities for new Canadians to contribute their knowledge and skills as volunteers throughout the Ottawa area.
Ottawa Folk Festival $14,600 over three years to make this annual three-day festival celebrating the creativity of folk artists and artisans, more environmentally friendly by using reusable dinnerware.
Ottawa Gymnastics Centre $33,000 over one year to replace two spring floors and purchase parallel and uneven bar landing mats as well as a trapezoid to accommodate recreational and competitive programs and promote a safer environment.
Ottawa Indians Rugby Football Club $53,400 over one year to purchase safety, audio-visual and technical equipment to promote, educate and train children, youth and women in the sport of rugby.
Ottawa Neighbourhood Services $74,000 over three months to enable the organization to continue to provide a valuable service to low-income members of the community by collecting and reselling previously-owned donated goods.
The Ottawa Opera Boys Choir $30,000 over three years to support the artistic development of the choir through the use of professional resources to improve performances.
Ottawa Regional Youth Choir Society $21,600 over 17 months to support special concerts, workshops, and the production of a CD / Multimedia package in celebration of the choir's 20th anniversary.
Ottawa Riverkeeper Inc. $115,400 over two years to support the establishment of a program to protect and enhance ecological integrity of the Ottawa River through research, public education and networking.
The Ottawa School of Speech and Drama $65,000 over three years to improve instruction in speech arts through research, development and the implementation of a model that will focus on Canadian-based content to be used in the curriculum and delivery system.
Ottawa United Academy $7,400 over nine months to purchase equipment for a film and arts program in Mandarin for the Chinese-Canadian community of Ottawa, and to support promotion and outreach initiatives of this young organization.
Ottawa Valley Autistic Homes $8,500 over one year to purchase furnishings, including appliances, sturdy furniture for common areas, and office filing cabinets, for a newly acquired group home for severely autistic adults.
Ottawa Water Polo Association $153,000 over three years to foster the growth of water polo as a sport throughout the Ottawa area by supporting “I Love Water Polo” programs for youth in six new locations and helping acquire additional equipment for use in other programs.
Parents' Lifelines of Eastern Ontario $24,300 over one year to assist this parent support group in its efforts to reach out, inform and provide services to families who are caring for a child or youth with mental illness or severe psychological problems.
Pembroke Alpine Ski Club Inc. $25,000 over six months to upgrade the club’s lift so that it can continue to provide safe skiing and snowboarding opportunities to residents and tourists to the area.
Pembroke Rotary Club $12,500 over eight months to convert a field house located in Rotary Park into a local Youth Centre and provide programs and services urgently needed by local youth and service providers.
Pembroke Skating Club $5,000 over three months to upgrade sound equipment so that the organization can improve on the quality of training provided to 200 skaters and offer community competitions.
Performance and Monitoring System Project c/o Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region $87,700 over two years to design and implement an internal evaluation system to continuously monitor the programs of the Distress Centre and Tel-Aide Outaouais to ensure that users, volunteers and the community at large are well served.
Petawawa Co-operative Nursery School Inc. $30,000 over six months to expand services to a larger number of young children aged two to five and to provide a safer, more stimulating learning environment.
Le Phénix $35,000 over one year to provide training for persons with physical disabilities living in a rural area, and to promote accessibility and awareness of accessibility issues in Prescott-Russell.
The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families $15,000 over three months to create an interactive Web site which will help children become more aware of social issues and learn how to better cope with them as they grow older.
Phoenix Players $15,000 over one year to provide equipment and performing space to this newly established community-based theatre group.
Pinecrest Little League $13,900 over three months to erect a batting cage that will enable little league baseball players to improve their skills.
Pink Triangle Services (PTS) $15,000 over one year to research, develop and introduce counselling services to address the particular needs of gay men suffering from depression.
The Polish Combatants' Association in Canada, Branch 8, Ottawa $75,000 over six months to upgrade a facility known as the Polish Centre which serves as a focal point for recreational and cultural activities that promote and preserve Polish heritage and culture.
REACH $93,300 over two years to develop training programs on issues related to disability, literacy and the law. One program will be developed for persons with disabilities and their families; another for organizations serving people with disabilities.
