$50,000 over two years to support “Creating Our Third Decade”, an initiative that seeks to raise this Ottawa-based theatre group’s profile, enlarge its audience and develop outreach touring strategies.

OFSC District One Snowmobile Association
$31,000 over one year to produce and install information signboards along the snowmobile routes in rural Eastern Ontario showing rider location, maps and emergency information, as well as safety and environmental messages.

$70,000 over two years to expand the Parent-Child Mother Goose program to include bilingual programs and to support long term sustainability of the program, which strengthens parenting skills of families in the Ottawa community.

$32,000 over six months to make renovations that will improve the accessibility of a local parish hall in Glen Robertson which is used for many social and recreational activities so that people with disabilities will be able to participate.

$25,000 over one year to undertake a strategic plan in order to develop effective programs that will address the needs of disadvantaged and at-risk members of the Ottawa community over the next five years.

$24,900 over one year to upgrade a local baseball field to make it safer for use by young baseball players.

$9,700 over 16 months to increase public awareness of the local heritage by designing and producing an historical exhibit on the town of Petawawa, including artefacts and photos, to be displayed in the CFB Petawawa Museum.

Pinhey's Point Foundation
$27,000 over one year for an artifact cataloguing, appraising and restoration project. The initiative will help preserve the history of this rural area on the Ottawa river.

Polish Heritage Foundation of Canada
$18,500 over one year to support events in the Ottawa area that highlight and commemorate the culture and heritage of Polish-Canadians.

Polish Paderewski Choir of Ottawa
$7,000 over one year to purchase new costumes to enhance the appearance of the choir in order to instil pride in the Polish cultural heritage and attract more youth members.

Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail Corporation
$39,700 over nine months to enable a local community group to effectively manage a 72 km multi-use trail that extends throughout the Prescott-Russell area. Local residents and tourists will benefit from the initiative.

Rainbow Valley Community Health Centre Inc. (RVCHC)
$52,900 over two years to support and enhance local volunteer sector activities through joint planning, recruitment and training of volunteers and the establishment of new volunteer initiatives.

Rideau Hill Camp of the United Church of Canada
$12,000 over seven months to renovate the kitchen and dining hall at a camp located north of Kemptville which provides recreational opportunities to families from several nearby counties and Ottawa. (A Quinte area OTF grant of $28,000 has also been approved.)

$32,700 over eight months to provide forums for stakeholders to network and develop collaborative programs and services aimed at protecting the historic Rideau waterway and its watersheds.

Rideau Seniors' Centre
$70,000 over two years to strengthen volunteer resources at the centre and increase the programs and services provided to seniors and adults with disabilities in Manotick.

Rockland Minor Baseball Association
$5,800 over six months to enable the organization to provide equipment and uniforms for new teams established over the past year as a result of the significant increase in the number of Rockland area youth participating in baseball.

Ross Township Historical Society of Whitewater Region
$9,400 over 15 months to enhance the Heritage Gardens site and enable the Ross Museum to renovate its facility and acquire materials and local artifacts. The initiative will safeguard local heritage and promote it through community events.

$33,100 over six months to renovate the Round Lake Centre so that it can be used throughout the year for social and recreational activities by residents of the community.

$23,400 over two years to purchase instruments and music scores and to establish a regular concert series for this volunteer band, which is made up of professional and amateur musicians from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry area.

$60,000 over one year to establish a community computer depot for non-profit organizations and their clients, and provide computer training to low-income individuals.

The Food Bank/ La Banque d'alimentation
$77,000 over two years to enable this Ottawa-area food bank to operate more efficiently by enhancing its computer technology and administrative systems. The community will benefit from an improved food collection and distribution service.

The Ottawa Bach Choir
$25,000 over two years to support the development of this newly established community choir so that it will be able to offer high calibre choral music performances in the Ottawa area.

The Stone Fence Theatre
$12,000 over one year to support marketing efforts that will promote community involvement in the theatre’s 2004-05 summer season. The initiative will benefit local artists and attract tourists to the Ottawa Valley.

Theatre / Théâtre Canada
$50,000 over one year to host the 5th International Drama/Theatre and Education Association’s World Congress from July 2 to 8, 2004, which will bring together over 1,000 regional, provincial, national and international delegates.

Toronto Tabla Ensemble World Music Organization Inc.
$13,000 over one year to undertake an educational outreach and marketing initiative in Ottawa and Toronto, including offering classes in Ottawa and archiving video and music collections in Toronto. (A Toronto area OTF grant of $17,000 has also been approved.)

Township of Bonnechere Valley
$52,500 to make renovations to the change rooms at the Eganville arena to ensure they meet the needs of both boys and girls participating in the sports of hockey and figure skating.

Township of East Hawkesbury
$5,300 to ensure that the local recreation centre in the community of Ste-Anne de Prescott is accessible to people with limited mobility.

Township of Madawaska Valley
$33,300 over one year to retrofit a historic building, including the installation of a barrier-free washroom, so that it will be accessible to people with disabilities.

Township of North Glengarry
$37,100 over six months to upgrade the floor and playing surface of a multi-sport community facility so that North Glengarry area residents will be able to participate in such sports as soccer, lawn bowling, and lacrosse.

Tri-County Literacy Council
$89,600 over two years to set up and operate homework centres in several locations throughout Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry which will contribute to improved youth literacy.

Tropical Conservancy
$20,000 over five months to organize and host the 1st International Symposium on Biodiversity and Health. The event will promote public understanding of the role all life forms play in supporting the Earth’s ecology and health.

Tumblers Gymnastics Centre
$22,000 over six months to expand recreational and competitive gymnastic programs for boys and girls in the Ottawa area.

Turtle S.H.E.L.L (Safety Habitat Education Long Life) / Tortue S.H.E.L.L.
$23,500 over one year to promote awareness of native turtle populations and their habitats by contributing to organizational planning and volunteer recruitment.

Upper Canada Playhouse
$26,300 over one year to resurface the roof of the Upper Canada Playhouse in Morrisburg featuring performances of Canadian plays that are enjoyed by residents and draw tourists to the area.

Watson's Mills Manotick Inc.
$67,000 ever six months for the restoration of the building's roof, windows and two chimneys. This working gristmill, which is located on the Rideau River in the Village of Manotick, is an important historic site and tourist attraction.

Waupoos Foundation
$35,000 over one year to consolidate administrative procedures and support volunteers in their efforts to provide quality camp facilities for over 130 low-income families from the Ottawa area.

West Ottawa Summer Tennis Club
$30,000 over six months to rebuild and convert six red clay tennis courts to meet industry standards. This will provide a safer playing environment for all members of the club, many of whom are seniors.

Wings of Phoenix Association
$22,300 over one year to enable this Ottawa-based organization to better serve people with acquired brain injury and their families by enhancing its organizational capacity and developing a long-term sustainability plan.
