Arts Etobicoke $74,300 over six months to upgrade computers and equipment and create a small art gallery in its new space. This will increase the organization’s capacity to continue providing quality community arts programming in West Toronto and Etobicoke.
Etobicoke Brighter Futures Coalition c/o The George Hull Centre for Children and Families $295,000 over four years to provide neighbourhood-based outreach, home-visiting and other programming. These will support the learning, development and other care needs of children aged 0 to 6 years and their parents in three underserved communities.
Hooryal Mentorship Program c/o Somali Youth Association of Toronto $82,900 over two years to expand a mentorship program for Somali children and youth in Rexdale, Jane-Finch and Jamestown. It will provide positive role models to help youth build their confidence, knowledge and skills.
Latino-Canadian Cultural Association $7,000 to present Beyond our Roots, a three-day, contemporary, multidisciplinary Latin-American festival in Toronto, which will help make artists and audiences aware of the contemporary approach of Latin-American art forms within the Canadian context.
Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre $200,000 over three years to help the organization to better manage and support its volunteers. They in turn support a wide range of social and recreation services for psychiatric consumer/survivors and socially isolated individuals.
Parkdale Intercultural Association $13,700 to upgrade the organization's network of computers, enhancing access to information for adult learners in the Parkdale/High Park area.
Rexdale Women's Centre $56,500 to purchase computers and office equipment and to upgrade the organization's safety and security system, improving services to women and their families.
Tecumseh Collective First Nations Community Organization $25,000, over one year to provide opportunities for youth to participate in drum-making, bead-work, soapstone carving, photography, videography and web design at workshops to be held in and around Toronto.
UrbanArts Community Arts Council $168,500 over three years to enhance the cultural and social capacity of the high-density, disadvantaged neighbourhood of Weston and central-west Toronto with a variety of arts activities, programs and initiatives.
2. OTF Community grants made across Toronto with citywide impact
Alzheimer Society of Toronto $35,800 to improve access to information about dementia by making the resource centre fully accessible to the public through an on-line catalogue and an upgrade to its automation system.
Cahoots Theatre Projects $44,000 over one year to implement outreach and education strategies and develop community partnerships. It will result in increased audience and strengthened multicultural arts in Toronto.
Canadian Art Foundation $140,000 over two years to improve the quality and reach of educational programs, including events, tours, publications and other projects. Funding will build more communities of people who understand and appreciate visual arts in Toronto and area.
Canadian Council of Christians and Jews $75,000 over three years to expand programming that fosters understanding and respect among ethnocultural and faith groups in Toronto, Peel and York regions. Students and community members will be empowered to become agents for positive change. (Additional grants of $50,000 for Halton-Peel and $75,000 for Simcoe-York will support this initiative.)
Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf Inc. (Deaf Culture Centre) $225,000 over three years to establish the Deaf Culture Centre in Toronto. This new facility will promote deaf culture, history and arts and encourage interaction and understanding between people with hearing disabilities and hearing people.
Canadian Foundation for Asian Culture (Central Ontario) $30,000 over six months to promote the Asian virtue of compassion in various school boards, present an Asian Heritage Month lecture and an educational roundtable at the University of Toronto, in addition to hosting other cultural programs.
Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association $175,000 over three years to provide volunteer opportunities, training, mentoring and recreational programming for Chinese-Canadian youth in York Region, Scarborough and North York. (An additional grant of $50,000 in Simcoe-York will support this initiative.)
CIUT FM University of Toronto Community Radio Inc. $99,100 over three years to actively engage underserved ethnocultural and artistic communities and expand the access to and participation in CIUT FM through a series of remote broadcasts from community-based events.
Eneract $217,000 over three years to increase Eneract's administrative and operating capacity. This will support the development and delivery of innovative energy solutions and programs, helping Toronto-area communities work toward a sustainable future.
Francophonie-En-Fête Corporation $60,000 over one year to develop the necessary plans, structures and resources to establish a Francophone cultural festival at Ontario Place in Toronto.
The Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival $105,000 over three years to create an annual juried Next Stage Theatre Festival to be held in Toronto each fall, which will help emerging artists develop their skills and careers.
Greenest City and Clean Air Partnership c/o Greenest City Environmental Organization $62,500 over one year to create a framework for monitoring and evaluating social marketing and environmental education programs. It will be used by Toronto-area environmental organizations focused on clean air and energy programs and issues.
The Hincks Dellcrest Centre $150,000 over two years to develop an evidence-based curriculum and game-centred instructional tool that will help Toronto-area children to improve their ethical knowledge, sensitivity and decision making regarding human diversity.
Homework Success c/o The Frontier College / Le Collège Frontière $88,000, over 15 months to support the effectiveness of homework clubs in North York and Scarborough by providing networking sessions, homework-club-design assistance and volunteer-management workshops.
Junior Achievement of Central Ontario $75,000 over five years to deliver the Dollars with Sense program to at-risk Grade 7 students in Toronto, Peel and Simcoe-York regions. (Additional grants of $75,000 in Halton-Peel and $125,000 in Simcoe-York will support this initiative.)
Licensed to Learn, Inc. (L2L) $63,400 over two years to expand the peer-tutoring model across Toronto, providing tutor training and free tutoring to students identified as being at risk or underachieving in school.
Muhtadi International Drumming Festival $35,000 over six months to support operational costs of the 2006 Muhtadi International Drumming Festival from June 2 to 4, which will showcase local and international artists from various cultural and artistic drumming traditions in Toronto.
The Multicultural History Society of Ontario $116,000 over two years to enhance the society's off-site programming by developing a prototype heritage-sharing program on the settlement experience in Toronto, piloting it in two Toronto elementary schools and making it available on the Internet.
Music Africa Incorporated $40,000 over two years towards the production of Afrofest 2006 and 2007, a festival of African music and culture featuring performances by international and local African music and dance groups in Toronto.
Native Canadian Centre of Toronto $60,200 over one year to renovate the centre's roof and move the kitchen ventilation system. Improvements will ensure the facilities remain safe and healthy for community gatherings and program delivery.
Newcomer Women's Services Toronto $73,800 over three years to help isolated and marginalized newcomer and refugee women to build social connections, improve their language skills and gain better access to community resources and services.
Peer Parent Educators c/o Asian Community AIDS Services $221,500 over three years to create healthy and safer environments for youth in the Bengali, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Tamil and Vietnamese communities of Toronto by increasing their parents' ability to speak to them about sexual health.
Red Pepper Spectacle Arts Incorporated $158,000 over three years to increase the organization's capacity to deliver more high-quality arts programming and youth-training opportunities in diverse neighbourhoods throughout the City of Toronto.
Robot-Building Workshops Collaborative c/o Boys and Girls Clubs of Ontario $150,000, over two years to support the Boys and Girls Clubs and Big Brothers/Big Sisters Toronto to provide opportunities for children from across the city to participate in robot-building workshops, increasing access to enriched science and technology.
Somali Mental Health Support Program c/o Midaynta Community Services $95,000 over two years to provide information, referral and peer-led training to volunteers in Toronto’s Somali community. This will help develop the capacity of individuals and the community to support family members in their recovery to mental health.
St. Alban's Boys' and Girls' Club $225,000, over four years to construct a dance/theatre studio and two sound recording booths and to support creative arts programming for youth at both the St. Alban's and the Jane and Finch Boys and Girls Clubs in Toronto.
Toronto Masque Theatre $45,000 over 14 months to create a marketing program to further promote this organization, which performs multimedia work combining theatre, dance and music with an emphasis on the art of the masque.
Toronto Tree Tour Collaborative c/o Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests $118,700 over three years to develop and deliver a series of guided tree tours accompanied by web-based resources. This will help raise awareness and engage Toronto residents in urban forest stewardship.

876 Royal Canadian Air Cadets Lincoln Alexander Squadron $22,600 to purchase musical instruments, enabling over 100 young people in the Malvern community of Scarborough to participate in a music program and to perform at community events.
AIDS Committee of Toronto $100,000 over two years to obtain the necessary skills and support the costs of the 399 Wellness Centre project, which increases access to wellness programming, reduces isolation and helps to reduce the stigma experienced by people living with HIV/AIDS.
Ballet Creole Inc. $160,000 over three years to purchase equipment and hire a resource development manager, which will help build relationships with the funding community and provide subsidies so children and youth in high-risk neighbourhoods may attend programs.
Bedford Park United Church $79,900 to support renovations that will make the function meeting area of this well used community meeting space in Toronto physically accessible to people with disabilities and people who use wheelchairs.
Call-A-Service Inc. $68,800 for the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible bus in order to maintain and enhance a transportation service that provides access to health, social and recreational programs for seniors and people with disabilities in East York.
Chetwynd Community Development Program c/o Hope for Children Foundation $210,000 over three years to improve the organization’s capacity to build networks, programs and support, helping sustain resident- created solutions to community problems in the Willowtree community in North York.
Common Ground Co-operative Incorporated $225,000 over three years to obtain the skills needed to enhance organizational capability, enabling it to support the expansion of social enterprises that provide meaningful employment for people with intellectual disabilities in Toronto.
Community Action Resource Centre in Toronto $75,000 over one year to support organizational capacity building by expanding and offering greater support to its volunteer base, providing board development training, updating its promotional material and facilitating a dialogue with service users.
Corvette CARES c/o Not Your Average Daycare $75,000 over one year to develop a co-ordinated strategy, assess needs and recruit volunteers to help increase social and recreational programming for school-aged children in the Scarborough neighbourhoods of Kennedy Park, Ionview and Eglinton East.
DAREarts Foundation Inc. $135,000 over three years to better compensate artists-as-teachers and hire necessary fundraising and marketing personnel, sustaining and expanding the all-the-arts program to two seasons so more children in Toronto can participate.
Delisle Youth Services $140,000 over two years to obtain resources and equipment, enabling this Toronto organization to diversify, strengthen and expand its volunteer and financial resources in order to augment programming and services for youth.
Delta Family Resource Centre $212,000 over 33 months to provide training and coaching support, building the leadership capacity and skills of North York women and increasing not-for-profit organizations’ awareness of the benefits of recruiting residents as volunteers and staff.
Eden Community Homes $100,000 over one year to renovate a coach house into an art workshop/studio for adults with mental health problems in Toronto. The space also will be used to offer art programs and facilities for community groups and individual artists.
Eva's Initiatives $207,700 over three years to expand a mentorship program, where volunteers from the community assist Toronto youth in making the transition from a life on the streets to one of living and working independently in the community.
Famous People Players $75,000 to upgrade computer equipment, sound and lighting systems and offices and to develop a computer training program for all performers of a touring company and a dinner theatre that employs adults with intellectual challenges in Toronto.
Hello Baby Circle Partnership c/o St. Stephen's Community House $224,100 over three years to train and employ multilingual peer parents to provide perinatal support, enhancing support and first language accessibility for women in the Hello Baby Circle Perinatal Program in Toronto.
Jumblies Theatre $225,000 over three years to build the organization’s capacity and attract volunteers for a community arts initiative in the Dundas/Islington area of Etobicoke, involving children, youth, families and seniors in creative programming.
Magicana $185,000 over three years to establish a magic camp, develop tour routes for professional and staged productions and program on-line exhibitions, which will expand magic programs for children, youth and seniors with various disabilities in Toronto.
The Mentoring Partnership c/o Accessible Community Counselling and Employment Services for New Canadians $50,000 over two years to develop occupation-specific mentoring in the City of Toronto and Peel and York regions, which will support the economic integration of skilled immigrants. (Additional grants of $49,400 in Halton-Peel and $50,000 in Simcoe-York will support this initiative).
The Olive Branch of Hope $45,000 over two years to recruit and train volunteers who will facilitate peer-led support groups for black women and women of colour who are living with breast cancer in Toronto, increasing their access to breast cancer information and support.
Parkdale Community Information Centre $149,500 over 30 months to obtain the skills, equipment and materials for a program that will facilitate school-community partnerships to enhance opportunities for student volunteerism in the Parkdale area of Toronto.
Parkdale Project Read $27,500 over one year to increase the number and capacity of volunteer tutors, drawing upon their creative and recreational assets in order to better serve adult literacy learners in Toronto.
People to People Aid Organization (Canada) Inc. $20,000 over one year to recruit and train peer educators, purchase materials and fund expenses for a community-based HIV/AIDS education and prevention program aimed at young Ethiopian-Canadian women in Toronto.
Pleiades Theatre $163,000 over three years to produce drama workshops for students in English and French, and expand the organization to a year-round operation that uses theatre to encourage cultural pride and engagement in Toronto's diverse communities.
Prisoners with HIV/AIDS Support Action Network $20,000 over one year to produce a strategic plan and enhance the organization’s website and resource library in order to strengthen the community-focused elements of this Toronto organization's work.
The Royal Conservatory of Music $176,000 over three years to obtain the skills, materials and supplies to establish the Living Through the Arts program in Toronto, which brings artists and adult learners together to discover their own artistic expression and enjoy the creative process.
SIWA-Somali Immigrant Women Association $9,200 over eight months to develop a strategic plan that will provide direction, identify priorities and recommend programs intended to make SIWA more effective and efficient in meeting members' needs in Toronto.
Studio 180 Theatre $25,000 over six months to present the Canadian premiere of The Arab-Israeli Cookbook to high school students and the general public in Toronto, in order to stimulate thoughtful and respectful dialogue and challenge stereotypes.
Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office $199,100 over three years to renovate a space within East York Town Centre and provide accessible multidisciplinary programs including homework clubs, recreational activities and leadership development for youth in the Thorncliffe Park community.
Times Change Women's Employment Service $25,700 over one year to purchase computers and related office equipment to help Toronto-area clients develop their resumes and employment-related computer skills.
Toronto Environmental Alliance $135,200 over two years to build a sustainable fundraising program that relies increasingly on individual donors and to expand the membership program in order to engage more Toronto residents in the greening of the city.
Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival $164,800 over three years to strengthen the organization’s volunteer management, administration, audience development and revenue generation in order to continue to grow this annual festival that showcases contemporary Asian cinema.
Victim Services Program of Toronto, Inc. $141,300 over two years to implement a resource development plan in order to sustain, enhance and augment programs and services to victims of crime and/or tragic circumstances.
Waterfront Trail Artists Inc. $10,000 over one year to co-ordinate, purchase materials and support the development of a creative arts storefront in the new Toronto neighbourhood of Etobicoke, where residents can participate in community art-making.
West Indian Volunteer Community Support Services $138,900 over two years to increase organizational capacity to develop, deliver and evaluate core programs and future initiatives that provide recreation and engagement opportunities for disadvantaged Etobicoke residents.
Wetland Education - Greater Toronto c/o Ducks Unlimited Canada $90,000 over three years for materials and field trip expenses to introduce interactive wetland education to Grade 4 classes in culturally diverse schools in Toronto.
Women's Health in Women's Hands Community Health Centre $220,700 over three years to obtain the skills, equipment and materials needed to increase the availability of services, promote well-being and foster skills development for African and Caribbean women living with HIV/AIDS in the Toronto area.
YouthLink $225,000 over three years to complete the exterior renovation of the agency's new premises and to support volunteer and resource development in order to expand services to youth in high-need areas of Scarborough.

Centre for Social Innovation $100,000 over 18 months to help build the capacity of the social-mission sector in Toronto through the coordination of co-location projects, shared space and resources, training initiatives and consulting support for collaborative projects.
Children's Circle of St. Barnabas Renovations Project c/o Children's Circle of St. Barnabas $100,000 over one year to purchase and install an elevator, improving access to childcare and cultural and recreational programming offered by many organizations using this facility in Toronto.
Community MicroSkills Development Centre $300,000 over five years to support the coordination and delivery of a 24-week bridging program in Etobicoke that increases employment and community involvement for women and develop and coordinate the After-School Homework Club Program for youth.
Community on the Move c/o North York Community House $285,400 over four years to assist North York high-school students to succeed by providing homework clubs, small group tutoring, mentoring programs, career exploration and assistance in finding part-time and summer jobs.

Don Mills Foundation for Senior Citizens Inc. $187,600 over three years to help this senior adult centre in Toronto revitalize and increase access to culturally appropriate, educational and wellness activities through enhanced volunteer involvement in programs and the purchase of a van.
Epilepsy Toronto $89,000 over one year to purchase new equipment that will allow the organization to better help people with epilepsy, their families and the community at large.
Equity Showcase Theatre $145,700 over two years to produce Picasso PRO, a program to enhance employment possibilities for artists with disabilities in Toronto through skills development, training and the improved integration of participants into the professional arts realm.
Face in the Crowd Collective $25,000 over nine months to organize and deliver ARCfest (Arts for Real Change), a five-day event in the Queen West district that uses art to affect social change, raise awareness of social inequalities and expand the protection of human rights.

First Night Toronto - Celebration of the Arts $111,500 over two years to develop year-round arts education programs in high-risk communities, increase volunteerism and participation in an expanded December 31 event and grow satellite sites in the neighbourhood.
Gallery TPW $140,000 over two years to increase the Toronto organization's capacity to acquire, develop and maintain a new facility that will receive larger and more diverse audiences with more artists, members and volunteers engaged in the programs.
High Park Initiatives $125,000 over three years for the High Park Nature Centre to offer an enriched educational experience to children and adults living in the city, with a goal of achieving a long-term impact on their attitudes and behaviour toward the natural world.
Highland Creek Community Stewards c/o Toronto and Region Conservation Authority $142,000 over three years to raise public awareness, initiate community-based events and activities to help protect and restore the ecological health of the Highland Creek watershed and enhance the quality of life in Scarborough.
Koral Cultural Association $36,700 over two years towards Pass The Torch, an arts education program of calypso music composition and performance, dance and storytelling for children and youth in the community of Malvern in Scarborough.
L'Arche Toronto Homes Inc. $99,900 to carry out accessibility renovations to the Gathering Place, making this newly established recreation centre in East York barrier-free and enabling it to better serve individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The Milkweed Collective c/o Arts Etobicoke $21,600 over one year to supply and deliver the experiential arts education program called Exploring Creativity in Depth to between 300 and 500 middle- and high-school students in 15 to 20 classes in the fall and winter of 2005-06.
Music Africa Incorporated $27,000 towards the production of the 17th annual Afrofest 2005 in Toronto, a festival of African music and culture featuring performances by international and local African music and dance groups.
North York Aquatic Club $28,300 over two years to revitalize the organization by further expanding and strengthening the entry level of the program and by introducing a new program designed specifically for triathletes.
North York Central Meals on Wheels $22,300 over one year to recruit volunteers and to reach out to seniors in the Muslim communities, expanding participation in community programs for seniors.
North York Hearts Azzurri Soccer Club $75,000 over one year to upgrade, fence and light the soccer field, helping to provide recreation for 2,000 children aged 4 to 19, and build healthier and more vibrant communities in North York.
Ostomy Toronto $50,000 over four years to increase the organization's capacity to provide services to people who have or will have ostomy surgery through enhanced volunteer and resource development, community outreach and public education.
Planet in Focus: Toronto Environmental Film and Video Festival $155,500 over three years to help improve the organizational capacity to deliver year-round services and programming to audiences and clients in Toronto and Ontario, promoting public awareness, appreciation and appropriate environmental action.
Pride Toronto $161,800 over three years to support organization efficiency and effectiveness by strengthening financial and information management systems and increasing accessibility to Pride Week events for members of the deaf community.
Reach for the Rainbow Ontario $99,200 to provide technology and training to better manage volunteers, fundraising and programming for this Etobicoke group that supports integrated camp and community opportunities for children, youth and adults with disabilities throughout Ontario.
Regent Park School of Music $123,500 over three years towards building renovations and the provision of affordable music lessons for children and youth in the Regent Park community, in order to support the development of their creative and academic abilities.
Scarborough Basketball Association $165,000 over three years to support the association's operations, expand participation in its girls' program and increase its volunteer development base.
Singing OUT! $37,000 over two years to support membership development and marketing initiatives that will better position the choir to reflect the diversity within lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and queer (lgbtq) communities in Toronto.
Somali Women and Children's Support Network $150,000 over two years to enhance the potential of immigrant women to gain employment and work experience through the expansion of Haween Enterprises, a community-based textile micro-enterprise in North Etobicoke.
The Street Haven at the Crossroads $138,200 over two years to expand existing resources by recruiting and training culturally diverse volunteers to deliver nutrition and recreation programs, improving the health and wellness of homeless and street-involved women in Toronto.
Surrey Place Centre $138,600 over three years for materials and expertise to develop and offer a new program of meaningful volunteer opportunities to people living with intellectual disabilities and their families in Toronto.
Toronto Neighbourhood Centres $70,000 over one year to support the Peer Organizational Capacity Building Initiative, aimed at sharing skills and knowledge to strengthen the effectiveness of multi-service neighbourhood agencies in Toronto.
Toronto Urban Music Festival Incorporated $27,200 one year to acquire computers and electronic equipment, which will enhance the efficiency, market research and web-based promotion of the Toronto Urban Music Festival and the Irie Music Festival.
UrbanNoise c/o Arts Etobicoke $214,000 over three years to develop and implement an annual urban arts festival and arts education program for young people in Rexdale (particularly Jamestown).
UrbanPromise Toronto $225,000 over three years to provide a range of neighbourhood-based programming to support the learning, enrichment, skills development and care needs of children, youth and their mothers in four high-risk communities in Toronto.
Women Moving Forward c/o Jane Finch Community and Family Centre $300,000 over five years for an integrated and comprehensive program for low-income, single and unemployed women between the ages of 20 and 29 years that will lead to economic self-sufficiency.
Women's Art Resource Centre $25,000 over six months for equipment and program costs to support the Youth Leaders Through The Arts program in Toronto, engaging young people in the creation of educational materials regarding health and wellness issues.
Working Skills Centre $75,000 over one year to increase the resource development capacity of the organization in order to offer affordable job skills training for immigrant women in Toronto who do not receive any government income support.
Working Women Community Centre $150,000 over two years to implement the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program in North Toronto and help maximize the educational success potential of young children at risk through early intervention.
Youth for the Arts c/o Prologue to the Performing Arts $225,000 over three years to bring this interdisciplinary arts-education pilot project in the Malvern community to three additional communities across the GTA, so that more young people can have in-depth fully integrated experiences with the arts.
