$13,600 over one year to purchase new uniforms, which will improve the appearance of this cadet pipe and drum band and enable greater participation by youth in the Sault Ste. Marie community.
The Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens Club of Lee Valley
$30,000 over one year for renovations to the foundation and floor of the Lee Valley Hall near Massey. This will help ensure the building’s safety and structural integrity and its continued availability as a venue for community gatherings.
The Canadian Hearing Society, Sault Ste. Marie Regional Office
$30,000 over one year to conduct outreach and promote the use of communication devices and interpretation services. The outreach will increase public awareness and reduce barriers to participation faced by people with hearing disabilities.
Caruso Club of Sudbury and District
$15,000 over one year for renovations to the women's washroom in this community hall. This will improve accessibility for people of all abilities.
Centre culturel La Ronde
$10,000 over one year to purchase a digital piano for the choir of this cultural centre serving Timmins and surrounding area. This will enable the centre to better host musical performances.
Centre Franco-Ontarien de Ressources en Alphabétisation
$85,000 over two years to develop training modules for at-risk students and adult literacy. This will enable the centre to establish a second-hand Francophone bookstore in Sudbury called Second Regard.
Connaught & District Historical Society
$15,000 over one year for rolling wall-display units and display cases. These will help the historical society showcase the community's heritage in the new pioneer museum to be officially opened in August 2007.
Copper Cliff Curling Club
$67,000 over six months to make major repairs to the roof of this facility, which serves many community groups in the area.
The Corporation of the Town of Moosonee
$45,000 over one year to purchase playground equipment for two new municipal playgrounds, which will provide children in this remote northern community with greater opportunities for safer play.
Corporation of the Town of Thessalon
$15,000 over five months to renovate the community arena building, improving its safety and access for people of all abilities in the community.
East Algoma Small Business Development Corp.
$20,000 over one year to send 30 children aged 10 to 13 years to a one-week youth business camp. The program will help participants from rural Algoma communities develop the skills needed to start and run a small business.
Greater Sudbury Environmental Network/ Reseau environnemental du Grand Sudbury
$150,000 over two years to establish an environmental resource centre, which will promote and support grassroots environmental groups in Sudbury.
Iroquois Falls and District Chamber of Commerce
$8,000 over one year to purchase office equipment and furnishings, which will allow the organization to better serve the community.
Misswezahging Development Corporation
$50,000 over one year for kitchen and banquet equipment and furnishings, which will help the Mississauga First Nation to host social, cultural and business events at its new sports and recreation complex.
New Beginnings for a Brighter Future c/o Seizure and Brain Injury Centre
$4,500 to provide improved training opportunities to special-needs volunteers in the Timmins area. This training will enable them to help more people with special needs integrate into enhanced roles and responsibilities in the community.
North Shore Search and Rescue
$30,000 over one year to purchase an all-terrain vehicle and provide Canada Safety Council training to members. This will help establish a quick-response ATV unit in the Sudbury-North Shore area capable of providing rescue services in remote areas.
Northern Lights Festival Boréal
$75,000 over two years to enhance the capacity of the organization by hiring a full-time festival director. More volunteers will be recruited and trained, and additional community partners and sponsors in the Sudbury area will be engaged.
Radio de l'Épinette Noire
$45,000 over one year to purchase transmission and broadcasting equipment. These purchases will help this community radio station replace outdated equipment and provide better service to Francophone communities from Opasatika to Hornepayne.
Salon du livre de Hearst
$24,500 over one year toward the cost of organizing and hosting the 2007 Salon du Livre de Hearst to be held in May. This event helps encourage people of all ages to read while promoting Francophone authors and the development of Francophone culture.
Sault Search and Rescue Inc.
$48,800 over one year for a new 4x4 vehicle to transport volunteer search-and-rescue first responders to remote and off-road locations. This will help improve community safety and provide a critical public service to the Sault Ste. Marie area.
Sault Ste. Marie Gymnastic Club
$40,000 over one year to provide training to volunteer coaches and purchase gymnastics and office equipment. This will increase the club's ability to offer recreational and competitive programs to people of all ages in the community.
Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre
$50,000 over one year for training and equipment to support the development of a local computer game industry. This will help grow the local information technology and knowledge-based sectors and contribute to the diversification of the economy.
Sudbury Canoe Club
$25,000 over one year to prepare a three-to-five year strategic plan for the organization. The plan will enable it to recruit and train volunteers, improve its fundraising activities and operating systems and manage growth.
Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival
$25,000 over one year to help the organization develop a strategic plan to guide its renewal, help recruit volunteers, attract new sponsors and ensure the festival’s ongoing sustainability.
Sudbury Rock & Lapidary Society
$8,800 over six months to purchase materials and display equipment that will allow the organization, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2007, to host the Sudbury Gem and Mineral Show in July.
Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario
$75,000 over three years to build the capacity of the theatre so that it can develop new audiences and volunteers from a variety of identified demographic sources, including local students, staff and private citizens.
Timmins Marlins Swim Club
$30,000 over one year to purchase materials, rent facilities and retain officials for a one-week swimmer development camp. Training for volunteer officials will also be provided, helping to develop swimming for sport and competition in the community.
Trailsmen Rod and Gun Club
$15,000 over one year to replace the roof on the club’s hatchery building, which will help provide a safer, accessible shelter for members of all abilities and ensure the continued operation of this important conservation facility near Sudbury.
United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin
$25,000 over one year to recruit and train volunteers for a series of 10 intercommunity sports and recreation events. This will help build relationships and enhance the quality of life for members of six First Nations communities.
Wahnapitae Community Centre
$50,000 over one year to construct a fully enclosed access ramp. This initiative will enable community members of all abilities to more easily use this popular recreation facility servicing Wahhapitae and area.

Algoma Music Camp
$34,100 over one year to renovate the kitchen facilities at the music camp located on St. Joseph Island. This will improve sanitary conditions, decrease energy consumption and increase the camp’s use by others in the community.
Assiginack Curling Club
$25,000 over six months to replace the rink's 30 year-old refrigeration plant and ensure the ongoing operation of the curling club.
Bike-ology c/o Spirited Hawks Attendance and Retention Inc.
$20,000 over one year to set up a bicycle workshop and train high-school-student volunteers to repair and refurbish donated bicycles for distribution to low-income children and youth in the Sault Ste. Marie area.
Club de l'âge d'or de Smooth Rock Falls Golden Age Club
$15,000 over eight months to purchase new furniture, kitchen appliances and office equipment for the club, which will improve safety and create a more comfortable community gathering space.
Corporation of the City of Elliot Lake
$20,000 over one year to purchase an electronic timing system, laptop computer and other aquatic equipment at the municipal swimming pool for use by the Elliot Lake Aquatic Club for training and hosting swim meets.
The Corporation of the Township of Michipicoten
$50,000 over one year toward the cost of more accessible and safer playground equipment that will enable greater use by participants of all abilities.
The Corporation of the Town of Thessalon c/o Thessalon Public Library
$23,000 over one year toward the cost of replacing the old concrete entrance walkway with interlocking brick, which will improve accessibility and safety.
District A-5 Lions Convention - April 2007 c/o Lions Club of Sudbury
$5,000 over one year to promote and deliver leadership and volunteer-management training to Lions Club members at their (April 2007) Northeastern Ontario District Convention in Sudbury.
Falconbridge Curling Club
$10,000 over one year to replace the lights above the ice surface and to purchase new equipment for the club, making the club safer and promoting better recreational activities for people of all ages.
Gogama Local Services Board
$36,700 over one year for renovations and equipment to improve accessibility and enhance the services available at the library. OTF funding will be used for new computers, new furniture and access to the Internet.
Laird Township
$20,000 over one year for renovations to the Laird Community Hall, which will reduce energy consumption and improve accessibility. Improvements will include installing new windows and insulation and redesigning the washrooms.
Mt. Dufour Ski Area Inc.
$75,000 over one year to replace 50 chairs on the quad ski lift, which will improve safety and ensure the continued operation of the ski facility near Elliott Lake.
Social Planning Council of Sudbury
$120,000 over two years to recruit and train youth leaders, develop materials and provide training on social inclusion to elementary school children.

$109,500 over two years to increase understanding of area social services by expanding the Get Street Smart Guide to include information on 24 additional communities in Algoma District.

$25,000 over one year to purchase mobile equipment that will improve this group's capacity to offer touring theatrical and musical performances to the Francophone community in Hanmer and more distant areas.

$44,000 over one year to undertake research and identify barriers to participation in the foster care of Aboriginal children by the Aboriginal community in Sault Ste.Marie.

$56,000 over one year to build the organization’s capacity and increase its profile, which will help VON Sudbury recruit, train and retain volunteers.

$73,000 over one year to enable students from four Sudbury-area high schools to monitor air quality. They will be taught how to use monitoring equipment, interpret the results and devise plans to protect local air quality.

$74,600 over one year to assist with the start-up of live community cable-television broadcasting in Moosonee/Moose Factory. This will enable local organizations to better promote their programs and services and increase community participation.

Porquis Recreation Association
$19,200 over one year to install a new metal roof on the Porquis Community Hall and repair water damage to the interior, which will provide a safer and more comfortable space for community groups to meet.

$32,100 over six months towards renovations of this ski-hill lodge in Kapuskasing, including roof and soffit repair, the replacement of windows as well as the replacement of rubber tracks on the groomer.
The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 374
$37,800 over one year for equipment and renovations to improve the safety and accessibility of the Legion hall, which is the prime venue for community events and activities in Richards Landing.

$74,500 over one year to organize and hold activities promoting interest in Francophone literature and build momentum for Salon du livre 2008 throughout the 2006-2007 period.

Sudbury Multicultural and Folk Arts Association
$15,000 over one year to purchase computers and audiovisual equipment, enabling volunteers to develop and deliver more effective public presentations. A monthly newsletter will also be produced by and for youth to promote cross-cultural understanding.
Sudbury Rowing Club
$24,000 over one year to upgrade existing boats and purchase a larger safety boat with an environmentally friendly four-stroke engine and rowing lifejackets.
Thessalon Community Curling Club
$74,000 over one year to make renovations that will improve the energy efficiency of the club’s facility, including the insulation of ceilings and walls.
Timmins Porcupine Track and Field Club
$12,000 over one year to purchase equipment and expand the club’s training to include the throwing sports of javelin, discus, shot put and hammer.
Weengushk Film Institute
$25,000 over one year to interest First Nation communities, industry partners and funders in the concept of a film-training program and centre on Manitoulin Island, which will provide hands-on, film-industry training to Aboriginal youth at risk.
