5 Cyclone Squadron Air Cadets $15,000 over 10 months to purchase band instruments and ski equipment. The new equipment will allow rural youth to participate in the regional cadet biathlon program in Prescott and Russell.
78th Fraser Highlanders, Fort Glengarry Garrison $40,000 over one year to build the capacity and sustainability of this Ottawa-area organization by expanding fundraising activities and outfitting six new recruits from the Fort Glengarry garrison.
2007 Freestyle Kayaking World Championship c/o CanoeKayak Canada $16,800 for materials and advertising to ensure media coverage of this international competition. The event will attract 300 competitors from 50 countries to Renfrew County in early May 2007, promoting tourism and economic development.
Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation & Pikwàkanagàn Elders Committee $40,000 over one year to develop and implement a seniors’ wellness program. This will provide opportunities for elderly people to socialize and participate in various health promotion activities offered at their Elders Lodge in Golden Lake.
Alternative Learning Styles and Outlooks $15,000 over six months to construct a new kitchen and meeting room that will allow this Ottawa organization to more effectively deliver some of its literacy and numeracy training.
Buy Local in Renfrew County Project c/o Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce $38,000 over two years for promotional tools and plans to support a public awareness campaign. The campaign encourages local residents to shop in their own community and support local businesses, arts groups and producers.
Canada Dance Festival Society $40,000 over two years to develop a consistent base of sponsors for the Canada Dance Festival in Ottawa. The festival helps promote dance as art and entertainment in all its forms.
Canadian Ski Museum $8,000 over one year to purchase portable display materials that will allow this Ottawa-based museum to engage in outreach activities and increase community awareness of the history of skiing and snowboarding in the area.
Carleton Heights Curling Club $68,000 over six months to replace the rink’s brine piping below the ice surface and upgrade the insulation layer. The club will improve its energy efficiency, enabling it to offer more summer curling to the Ottawa community.
Centre Marguerite de Prescott-Russell $25,000 over six months for repairs to the centre that will improve its safety. This will allow the centre to begin educational and other programs for women and children in this Hawkesbury location.
Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest $50,000 over two years to hire a part-time volunteer co-ordinator who will help strengthen recruitment methods and establish projects involving youth and environmental volunteers.
Compagnie Vox Théâtre $91,800 over three years to consolidate the range of services the company provides in order to integrate theatre into the educational, social and community activities of young Francophones in the Ottawa area.
Comptoir Familial Le Partage de Bourget $15,000 over six months to purchase equipment needed to operate a second-hand clothing, household goods and appliance store. The store assists underprivileged families in Bourget and area.
Cornwall District Minor Baseball $48,000 over one year to purchase and renovate a used portable facility to house canteen, washrooms and storage facilities. Equipment will also be purchased to help volunteers maintain fields for use by young baseball players aged five to 19 years.
Cornwall Minor Football Association $52,500 over six months to purchase uniforms and safety and training equipment, which will allow more than 150 children and youth aged seven to 16 years to participate in football.
Croatian Folklore Ensemble $15,000 over one year to purchase tamburitza instruments specific to Croatian folk music. These will help the organization continue to provide quality music classes and performances in the Ottawa-Carleton area.
District Numéro 1 du Richelieu International $20,000 over one year to produce promotional materials about the educational aspect of the Monuments de la francophonie d'Ottawa project. The materials will help inform the public about the contributions of the Francophone community in Ottawa.
Glengarry Curling Club $44,000 over one year to make the entranceway, washroom and club area more accessible, so more people of all abilities in the Maxville area will be able to participate in events.
Goulbourn/Nepean Collections Management Project c/o Nepean Museum $22,000 over one year to improve programming and collection management. A manager will be hired to enable both the Goulbourn and Nepean museums to better preserve, maintain and showcase their artifacts and materials.
Great Canadian Theatre Company $50,000 over two years to support the mentorship activities of a new community-focused theatre program. Local professional groups and youth in Ottawa will have access to activities and opportunities to work in a technically sophisticated theatre.
Groupe Convex Prescott-Russell $14,000 over one year to purchase and install a four-season greenhouse. It will be used for community gardens while providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities in Prescott-Russell.
Hopewell Eating Disorders Support Centre of Ottawa $94,700 over three years to build the capacity of the organization. The grant will help raise funds, increase visibility and develop programs for individuals with eating disorders and their families throughout the Ottawa region.
Invitation: The Quilt of Belonging $15,000 over one year to translate the Quilt of Belonging website. The translation will help ensure that the large Francophone community in Eastern Ontario has access to valuable information and resources about all cultural communities in Canada.
Jack Purcell Recreation Association $7,400 over one year to purchase and install an on-line registration system. It will increase the number of participants, provide better program management and improve program marketing by this Ottawa-area recreation facility.
Kanata Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics Club $15,000 over one year to replace a 20-year old rhythmic carpet. The new carpet will improve the safety and quality of training for all participants in the sport of rhythmic gymnastics.
Kenyon Agricultural Society $35,000 over six months to install a platform lift that will provide barrier-free access to the upper level of the building. The lift will allow people of all abilities to enjoy the Maxville fair, Glengarry Highland Games and other community events.
Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards Heritage Society $29,000 over six months to renovate Hoch Farm Museum located in Killaloe. The museum will be able to extend its programming period, provide a suitable location for genealogical research and initiate new community cultural activities.
Learning Disabilities Association of Ottawa-Carleton $71,000 over two years to enhance recreational programs, such as summer camps and after-school programming. Such programs will help to build social skills and promote higher self-esteem among children and youth with learning disabilities in Ottawa.
Neil Squire Society, Central Regional Office c/o Neil Squire Society of Canada $20,000 over one year to provide technological assistance and personal wellness training to people with severe physical disabilities in Renfrew County. This will enable them to overcome some of the barriers to active involvement in the community.
Nepean Oldtimers Slo-Pitch Association $10,000 to purchase equipment and uniforms so this volunteer organization can continue offering a high-quality and safe sport program to the 50 plus.
Omàmiwinini Pimàdjwowin $45,000 over one year to provide cultural awareness activities and workshops so that the local First Nations’ community in Pikwàkanagàn and Renfrew County can become better acquainted with their ancestry and traditions.
Orleans Young Players Theatrical School $18,000 over one year to produce a DVD that will promote learning while showcasing the work of students aged five to 19 years. The DVD will also create a historical record of their interaction with playwright James Reany.
Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association $24,300 over one year to purchase computer equipment that will facilitate the delivery of training sessions to volunteers and players throughout Eastern Ontario. It will also assist volunteers with administrative duties such as registration.
Ottawa International Children's Festival $60,000 over two years to increase audiences and implement cost-control measures. This grant will help support the growth of the festival and guarantee the organization's successful transition to a new festival site in the City of Ottawa.
Ottawa Inuit Children's Centre $126,000 over two years for materials, equipment and training to deliver a program that will promote literacy skills in Inuktitut and English among Inuit families. The program will have a special focus on pre-school and school-age children.
Ottawa Jazz Festival $70,000 over two years to purchase equipment and obtain the skills to help develop local high-school jazz talent and assist with the growth of this important Ottawa event. The festival showcases local artists and contributes to the area’s economy.
Ottawa River Runners $14,400 over one year to purchase equipment and make renovations to the training course. The initiative will help to increase membership and participation in the sport of whitewater paddling, enhance training and improve competitive events.
Ottawa Riverkeeper $116,000 over two years for workshops and materials to increase the capacity and skills of volunteers. The funding will also help develop and deliver education programs that will motivate children and youth to help protect the Ottawa River system.
Ottawa Rowing Club $15,000 over six months to purchase new coach boats and outboard motors. Coaches will be able to better help rowers develop their technique on the water and improve the rowers’ safety while practising and competing.
Ottawa School of Art $50,000 over two years to support the engagement of artist-instructors in a program that provides barrier-free art classes. More than 300 children and youth in socio-economically disadvantaged neighbourhoods in the Ottawa area will benefit from it.
Ottawa School of Speech and Drama $25,000 over one year to create a new training studio, dressing rooms, offices and storage area in a recently acquired space in Ottawa. Producing a suitable facility will help students and theatre groups train, rehearse and perform.
Ottawa-Carleton Ultimate Association $55,000 over 18 months to create four sports fields on scrubland near the Aviation Museum in Ottawa. The fields will increase opportunities for area players to participate in the sport of ultimate.
Pembroke Rotary Club and City of Pembroke c/o City of Pembroke $37,800 over six months to install a unique aquatic recreational structure suited to the needs of young children. The initiative will provide a source of healthy physical recreation to families and the entire community.
Rideau Canoe Club $13,800 over one year to purchase equipment that will improve on-water coaching and to upgrade the on-water race course at Mooney’s Bay in Ottawa. This will meet the technical requirements for hosting the 2007 National Canoe Kayak Championships.
Rideau Roundtable $20,000 over one year to expand the Rideau Experience program, an eco-tourism interpretive tour of the Rideau River from Kingston to Ottawa. The program will raise community awareness of the heritage and ecological features of the Rideau waterway.
Rockland Concert Band $16,000 over one year to assist with the recruitment of new members and to purchase uniforms, instruments and other needed supplies. Funding will help improve performances and ensure this band can continue to provide free concerts in the community.
Russell and District Girls Hockey Association $38,200 over two years to purchase goalie equipment, jerseys, team supplies and coaching aids. The organization provides opportunities for young women to participate in community sports and recreation.
Scouts Canada, 1st Rockland Scouting Group c/o Boy Scouts of Canada National Council $15,000 over one year to purchase new camping equipment and storage trailers. This purchase will help enhance existing programming for children and youth, extend the lifespan of all equipment and enable the successful tracking of inventory.
Seaway Valley Amateur Radio Club $24,500 over one year to purchase and install radio communications equipment at key locations. The organization will improve its ability to provide emergency communications services in the City of Cornwall.
Société de développement commercial et touristique de Hawkesbury $32,500 over one year to help obtain the skills required to create a youth employment co-operative in Hawkesbury. The initiative will provide young people with the potential for gainful employment and encourage them to remain in the community.
Stroke Survivors Association of Ottawa $50,000 over one year to hire a fundraising consultant and contribute to the executive director's salary. This will help the organization respond to the increased demand for support services in the community and sustain its programs financially.
Tropical Conservancy $143,700 over three years for a co-ordinator to help build the capacity of this Ottawa organization by recruiting and training volunteers, produce its Biodiversity Journal and help raise community awareness of biodiversity issues.
Tucker House Renewal Centre $102,000 over three years to make the centre accessible to people of all abilities. The funding will help develop and deliver environmental and cultural programs that will engage children, youth, adults and seniors in Clarence-Rockland and Ottawa.
Tumblers Gymnastics Centre $26,100 over six months to purchase equipment that will enhance the gymnastics program for boys in the Orleans area. This will also improve the safety of all athletes and staff and increase the organization's ability to host provincial competitions.
Tungasuvvingat Inuit $140,400 over three years to increase the organization’s capacity to provide services, develop a long-term funding strategy and enhance family health care programs. These are offered to Inuit community in Ottawa through the Family Resource Centre.
Westfest $30,000 over one year for part-time communications services that will help establish sustainable funding and corporate sponsorship for this multidisciplinary outdoor Ottawa festival.
Women's Initiatives for Safer Environments $50,000 over one year to train Ottawa youth to become certified safety-audit leaders. The initiative will also mobilize local youth teams from various neighbourhoods to identify outstanding safety concerns in their living environments.
Youth Infringement Theatre Festival $5,100 over one year to recruit nine youth-written plays and produce them at the annual festival in Ottawa with the help of professional playwrights. Young artists will have opportunities for mentorship and to develop new skills and knowledge.

Catholic Immigration Centre, Ottawa $38,000 over one year to build capacity of the Making Ottawa Safe Together committee (MOST). This will enable it to continue promoting civic engagement and to partner with newcomer and diverse communities in building a harmonious and inclusive Ottawa.
Causeway Work Centre $62,200 over two years to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle for people with mental health disabilities in the Ottawa area by providing a wellness program that includes structured fitness activities and a community kitchen.
Centre d'apprentissage et de formation + de Cornwall $75,000 over two years to develop literacy programs for the Francophone community including one for families with pre-school children, a French for Parents program and a Storysacks program.
Centre Youville Centre Ottawa-Carleton $90,000 over three years to provide mental-health counselling services to high-risk young mothers completing their high-school education. This will help them to better manage issues that may have a negative impact on their ability to focus on studies.
Les Chansonniers de Gloucester $25,000 over one year to offer performances in North Bay, Sudbury and Timmins and to promote networking between Francophone choirs in these communities.
Community Resource Centre (Killaloe) $61,200 over two years to continue providing structured programs and recreational activities for youth living in Killaloe and surrounding areas.

Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network c/o Phoenix Centre for Children and Families $29,000 over one year to support the work of the Child Poverty Action Network, which increases public awareness of social inclusion and child poverty, and to continue to consolidate initiatives such as the Back Pack program.
Royal Canadian Legion, Osgoode Branch 589 $30,000 over one year to perform upgrades that include a water well, electrical wiring, insulation and a heating system, which will make the facility more user-friendly for community organizations.
Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa $10,000 to add a canopy roof over the wheelchair ramp leading to the centre’s entrance way, which will help keep it free of snow, ice and debris and ensure its accessibility to women of all abilities using the centre's services.
Stittsville Minor Hockey Association $12,000 over one year to implement instructor training that will allow players to continue playing the sport of hockey and benefit from the expertise of trained coaches.
Township of Bonnechere Valley $50,000 over one year to renovate the library, which will provide members of the community with greater accessibility to activities and programs.
Township of South Dundas $18,000 over six months to upgrade an existing beach facility located in the Iroquois Village by creating a proper barrier-free and accessible lifeguard space.
Township of South Glengarry $18,000 over one year to upgrade the Paul Rozon Memorial Park by providing a permanent concrete multi-purpose pad next to a building with washrooms that will enable users to participate in winter and summer sports and recreation activities.
Tri-County Literacy Council $90,000 over three years to further consolidate four existing homework clubs in Cornwall, to expand the program to new rural areas and to implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that will allow the programs to become self-sustaining.
Villa Marconi Long-Term Care Centre $64,000 over two years to develop culturally sensitive programs for seniors in the Ottawa area that will maintain or improve their physical, mental and social well-being, help reduce isolation and increase community engagement.
West Carleton Skating Club $17,500 over one year to enhance skating programs by purchasing a sound system and to develop a strategic plan and marketing strategy.
Winchester Curling Club $16,700 over eight months to provide training, purchase equipment that will help maintain access to the program and facilitate the development of curlers in the community.

Bytown Museum $40,900 over one year to renovate the exhibit galleries and create a programming space for students, which will attract new audiences by 2007, in time for this Ottawa museum’s 90th anniversary.
Canadian Film Institute $10,000 over one year to support Animation Celebration, an outreach program aimed at introducing elementary school children in the Ottawa area to animation art.
Canadian Organic Growers, Ottawa Chapter c/o Canadian Organic Growers $34,400 over two years to enhance outreach, program development, volunteer management and membership co-ordination. Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Programs $25,000 over three years to co-ordinate the Cyberkids program and develop corporate and community partnerships. This will help sustain this program, which provides laptop computers to children undergoing cancer treatment in the Ottawa area.
Capital Storytellers c/o Ottawa Storytellers $20,000 over one year to improve administrative structures and develop effective tools to support the growth of storytelling in the Ottawa area and beyond.
Centre Charles-Émile Claude $25,000 over six months to replace windows in two rooms and repair and pave the parking lot at this franco-Ontarian seniors centre in Cornwall.
Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa $30,000 over six months to undertake a feasibility study and explore the potential for regional expansion of the Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa program.
Columbus House (Pembroke) $64,000 over one year to consolidate the Young Parent Support Program in six locations throughout Renfrew County. This will enable more young parents to successfully pursue high school education while learning valuable parenting and life skills.
Community Foundation of Ottawa $100,000 over two years to develop and implement the Ottawa Vital Signs program, designed to rate, monitor and address Ottawa's quality of life in 12 key areas.
Cornwall Sealions Swim Team c/o Cornwall Project 2000 Aquatic Fund $11,300 to develop a summer triathlon camp and introduce youth to the sports of running, cycling and swimming at a recreational level under the supervision of an experienced and qualified coach.
Doors Open Champlain, East Hawkesbury & Hawkesbury c/o Corporation of the Township of Champlain $11,000 over six months to stage and produce materials for the first Doors Open heritage initiative, which will serve the Township of Champlain, the Town of Hawkesbury and the Township of East Hawkesbury.
Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association $70,000 over 15 months to develop systems and programs required to create best practices in volunteer services. Effective recruitment, training and tracking of volunteers will ensure the success of the FIFA World Cup Canada 2007 event in Ottawa.
Hospice Renfrew $60,000 over one year to support fundraising efforts and establish a new, six-bed, residential respite-care facility for residents living in Renfrew and nearby communities.
Jewish Youth Library $42,600 over one year to support the establishment of the Friendship Circle, a program that matches teen volunteers and children with special needs in Ottawa.
John Howard Society of Ottawa $80,000 over three years to provide literacy training in two shelter locations and two drop-in centres, so that people who are homeless, transient or under-housed will have programs suited to their particular situation.
March Tennis Club $60,000 over six months to winterize a facility that will provide year-round programs and activities benefiting members of all ages and abilities living in the Kanata/Goulbourn/West Carleton area.
Maxville Learning Readiness Centre $15,000 over one year to continue providing enhanced school-readiness program to children aged 3 to 6 years living in the village of Maxville and surrounding areas.
Minwaashin Lodge/The Aboriginal Women's Support Centre $80,600 over two years to deliver the Wisdom Keepers cultural program, which will help strengthen the Ottawa Aboriginal community by enhancing cultural knowledge, reducing social, physical and financial barriers and restoring hope and empowerment.
