L. Robin Cardozo
Chief Executive Officer

Welcome to our website. I hope you find the information here relevant and useful to you.

As an agency of the Government of Ontario we are committed to being open and accountable to you, and we actively pursue ways to keep you informed about our activities. Our website is one of the ways we do this.

Since 1982, we’ve granted hundreds of millions of dollars to thousands of charitable and not-for-profit organizations in every part of the province. Today, we are one of Canada’s leading charitable grantmaking foundations.

Our mission is to help build healthy and vibrant communities by strengthening the capacity of the voluntary sector through investments in community-based initiatives. This is reflected in our granting priorities and our grants that enable organizations to build on their strengths and develop new ideas.

Our mission is truly supported by our commitment to inclusion and accessibility for all and our compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Like the organizations we’ve supported over the years, we rely on the passion, talent and energy of dedicated volunteers. Our volunteer Board of Directors guide our work and ratify grantmaking decisions. We are also fortunate to have more than 300 individuals from across Ontario who volunteer as members of our Grant Review Teams to review grant applications and recommend projects for funding.

If your organization is interested in applying for an OTF grant, we trust you will find the information in the
How to Apply section of our website helpful. Here you will be able to check your eligibility and download forms and documents to help in your grant application. Our Now That You Have a Grant section includes reporting information and details on our recognition policy for grantee organizations.

Also, we invite you to visit our Story Gallery to read inspiring stories of not-for-profit and charitable organizations doing great work in Ontario communities. This is where grantees from the arts and culture, environment, human and social services and sports and recreation sectors speak candidly about what OTF funding has meant to them.

OTF is committed to knowledge sharing through our Knowledge Management Centre where we conduct research on an ongoing basis to help us in our granting. A selection of our research is provided in this section, highlighting our recent findings. We are also pleased to include a number of on-line resources links to help organizations grow and succeed.

If you have any suggestions as to how we might further enhance our website, please do not hesitate to contact us.
