Preserving and Restoring Ontario’s Heritage – Brick by Brick

Ontario is rich in buildings and cultural artifacts that provide us with fascinating clues to our heritage and history. The Ontario Trillium Foundation has played a valuable role in working with community partners to preserve and restore a number of unique heritage buildings across Ontario.

Arts and Culture is one of four sectors (along with Environment, Sports & Recreation and Human & Social Services) eligible for grants from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Within the Arts and Culture sector, OTF looks for projects from community groups that help to preserve and promote a community’s heritage and culture.

In fact, since April 2003 the OTF has funded over 110 grants totaling more than $5.5 million for the restoration, preservation, renovation and promotion of heritage facilities across Ontario. By helping to preserve Ontario’s heritage, the Foundation is providing a window to the past through which we can more clearly see and understand our present and future.
